TechFast Happy Customer Megathread

Hi all :)

I just wanted to share that I received my Techfast PC after the long Auspost delays and I just wanted to say that it was absolutely worth the wait and I am very happy with my PC :)

Normally I build my own PCs but the value of Techfast was simply too good to ignore. For reference, I got this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/520581

I found the workmanship and presentation to be excellent. Cable management was done very well. My guess is that they wore gloves during assembly as I didn't notice any greasy fingerprints and they put extra plastic sheets on to protect the glossy surfaces.

Packaging was excellent, I have no issues with the padding etc.

Communication was really good overall. I think my first email was missed but after DMing Luke on OzB I got a reply almost instantly.

I would absolutely recommend Techfast to anyone.

Cheers

  • They are running some thin margins with their prices.

    • Yes, I'm not really sure how they made a profit with that build, unless they managed to buy the parts extremely cheap.

  • $1599 for an RTX 2080 Super is a great deal.

    • Yep! I kept trying different part combinations from PC stores and I couldn't beat the value at the time. It did not make financial sense to build one myself.

  • Merged from Recent TechFast Customer: Very Happy with My Purchase

For most viewers going through my post, I'd like to firstly address that I too was one of the "worried customer", everything turned around after I received my delivery.
Order details (base spec, no upgrades): https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/525058
Order date to delivery date: 24 business days, 31 calendar days

My experience with TechFast customer support was decent with some acceptable delays, luke manage to escalate my queries when things gets stuck. I was also lucky to receive a free GPU upgrade from Biostar to Sapphire. This was probably one of the fun part when purchasing from Techfast, you might get something better than what you paid for! Build was as expected, cables well managed, PSU is Allied 550W and has a dedicated 8-pin to the GPU (I did not experience the 2x Molex to 8pin issue), motherboard is a Gigabyte B450M-H. Overall my purchase was well over what I paid for. https://imgur.com/a/r7yEUid

If I have to point out some cons, the PC is definitely loud, but it mainly comes from the PSU. Swap it out for a quieter PSU. The Leaper flair case is decently looking, I quite like the brushed finish on the front, but airflow is something to look out for if you're running a higher spec build, however in those scenario I'm sure you would be ready to move it to a case of your preference. For the build that I purchased, I believe temps would be okay without overclocking.

Finally, the wait time… 31 days is certainly long and I'm sure TechFast can do better in this aspect. Whether or not the reason you received for your delayed orders was true or not, I'm sure they are also in a pinch given the current situation going around the world. That said I wasn't in a rush for a new PC. If so, I'd suggest looking elsewhere or build it up from individual components. Otherwise, I would still recommend to look out for their upcoming deals.

If I were to make another purchase from TechFast, the deals I would go for would be those without the Biostar mobo/gpu even if it might cost a bit more. They might get the job done, but I'm quite skeptical about their performance given the lack of review around.

All in all, a happy customer! Will look out for them for my next purchase :)

    • For anyone put off by the wait time, you can elect to build yourself and/or pick up if you're in SA.

      • lol, if I built it cable management would go out the window…..

        • If you have a windowless case, do you care?

I had a mate who spent ages getting perfect cable management, for a case with no side window. I'm just scratching my head asking him why.

      • Yeah, that's what I thought so I asked to pick up the parts only and still haven't got my parts going into my 18th business day.

100%. Came here to say the same thing. They must have some form of rebate for comments scheme going on. Leave a positive comment, get a kickback. And they all read like fake, canned reviews.

        • I would have provided an awesome review x1,000 if that was the case - everyone has a price? :p

I did leave my honest review and people can work out if it suits them; in terms of price, components supplied, communication and waiting times.

Just like many popped out of the woodwork to give positive reviews, there are just as many who have popped out of the woodwork to knock them down, the worst ones are those without any first hand dealings/experiences.

      • +7

It's funny…. This sudden need people have had to post 'Happy with purchase' as a separate/individual posts in the forums are more suspicious than if they had waited till a deal was posted to reply… Even though at least one poster was a regular/high comment ratio user… It annoys me most because I've been looking to buy from them as they are local….

      • No incentive scheme, they just ask for feedback, which I'm happy to give them. (Purchased same as OP)

      • Currently we do not have any evidence on this "incentive scheme". However if anyone has been offered any incentive for writing positive feedbacks, please contact the moderators via TWAM or Contact form.

      • +2

Considering the margin that TechFast is running, not sure how high of an incentive they can offer. More likely that TF is just asking for customers for sharing feedback. With many people now staying at home and likely feeling bored every now and then, sharing experience and opinions is probably a way of social interaction (e.g. activities on all other social media platforms).

      • +1

Only one way to find out ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Seriously though, more likely a few people caught that negative review and felt the need to show off that TechFast aren't bad. Maybe even some "they're an Aussie seller so I need to support them" as a result of COVID?

    • Got my son a pc for Xmas from here. Had an RX580 biostar GPU and 600w PSU. When playing games the PC shut off reboot rinse and repeat. Swapped the PSU for a Corsair 350w PSU from my desktop and fixed the issue right away. The fans on the GPU are also terrible and are very noisy.

It was built on a budget and budget it is.

      • Sorry I may miss something here but if you are swapping 600w PSU to 350w, wouldn't the problem be worst?

I mean you are swapping to weaker wattage PSU and the shut off reboot is likely from insufficient power to support the gaming grunt?

        • It'll depend on the quality of the PSU.

Not an expert on PSU, but I'd hazard a guess it may be related to its power output, with regards to the performance, sustenance and consistency of said output.

        • Basic mid range PC builds tend to require less than 300w even at full load, I have no doubt a Corsair 350w of would be sufficient. The 700w psu I got with my techfast build is very unreliable, seems to provide really unreliable power to the gpu causing crashes at other issues.

        • One would initially think so but that isn't the case. The 600w is still in my desktop and since I don't do anything strenuous it has behaved itself but the problem still lies with them having dogshit shit parts that are installed with power hungry GPU's.

    • +4

So it's noisy AF and you had to wait a whole month to get it? yeah I'd be happy with that.

I was also lucky to receive a free GPU upgrade from Biostar to Sapphire

Maybe there's the incentive scheme right there ^^^^

      LOL
I think I would've forgotten the fact that I bought a PC if I waited that long. No wonder you are happy, it's like a surprise present!

      • Lol I think it was quite the opposite. I was keeping track of my order almost everyday, plus having to go through all of the delayed/negative comments in each TechFast posts led to the point where I had little to no hope. Hence when it actually arrived it was a surprise xD

        • Hence when it actually arrived it was a surprise xD

          Yes

    • Weird, I got pretty much exactly the same PC and mine is dead silent. Can't hear either the PSU or biostar GPU fans.

      • Sounds like they're picking up their pace back! I do wonder what your total cost is though given all the upgrades there.

        • Total cost was $3300 or there about a prior to shipping. Agreed i did a lot of upgrades but wanted a high end Pc. It also would have cost me more to build it myself buying parts at its cheapest on scorptec or similar

Oh, 28 calendar days for delivery and they sent it was StarTrack express so made it from SA to Rural QLD in 3 days which was pretty great given the covid situation.

It's so tempting for me to get one of these midrange systems. I tried to put together some parts of my own:
      Ryzen 5 3600 $300
Good mobo (Maybe MSI B450M MORTAR MAX) $150
      2x 8gb 3200mhz ram $150
      6gb 1660 Super $400 (I think it's among the best fps/dollar gpus?)
      SSD $100
      HDD $100
      Case $100
      Psu $100
      Total $1400

Whereas, as soon as the dollar picks back up etc I imagine techfast will be able to do all that for well under $1000 (maybe without a huge ssd+ hdd and 8gb ram, but still, can upgrade later if necessary)

      • If you want to build from scratch, definitely wait for another month or two. There would most likely be better deals during EOFY sales, plus B450 will surely drop in price given they will not support Zen3 CPU, which would most likely come out at the end of year.

    • +1

one thing i will say, is my techfast deal really gave me the bug to build myself as i wound up swapping some of the shitty parts out later anyway.
so my kids will get the TF, im building from scratch :)

Prices are good but cost of upgrades kind of kills it, and you probably do want the upgrades. Still, the service was great but shipping time needs to be addressed. Overall, I was whelmed and wont complain. Just know you're in for a wait and some of the cheaper parts are a waste of time

  • Merged from TechFast PC Review - Ryzen 5 3500X & GTX 1660

Boy Oh Boy! I had my doubts when buying this PC from Techfast. As a budget boy still in school, I was nervous to blow all my money on a company known for shitty PSUs and sub-par components. But this PC has by-far exceeded my expectations.

I recieved it today and to my surprise, it was fitted with a Gigabyte A320M-H, not the advertised Biostar A320M-H which was a welcome surprise as I was originally concerned about the quality of the motherboard. I opted to purchase a 750W Gold PSU which was the Gigabyte G750H and I am happy with the GALAX 1660 Super, 3500X and ADATA RAM. BIG PLUS is that the Gigabyte A320M-H came with an M.2 slot which was not in the Biostar A320. It performs great and there isnt much more to say. It took about a month for it to come but that wasn't really an issue. Currently, I am unable to get any audio from all jacks but I am talking to the TechFast team at the moment and they have been great so far. TechFast are kings in my book.

    • +1

I got a very similar build, and feel the same way! Amazing value! I also got a surprise motherboard upgrade, but just for a higher Biostar model. Still really appreciated

    • +2

Careful, you might get berated by others claiming you've been incentivised to make this review.

It is good to see the positive reviews, I am waiting out for an amazing bargain from them ATM.

      • +1

Wouldn't be surprised, where's the review? OP got a different basic motherboard than others… great?

    • +9

Something just doesn't feel right with these formulaic pseudo advertorials.

      • Acknowledge but gloss over component quality issues- highlight mobo and psu
      • Acknowledge but gloss over delivery wait times
      • Find a way to mention after sales support
      • this - the very similar when you look deeper

    • +8

Can we get all these techfast infomercials in one place? I don't know if we really need a new thread for every single person that buys a PC.

    • i got this same deal and got biostar, slow g-skill ram g4. Geforce GTX. Can't complain for the price but if youre ordering this for the small chance to get upgraded. I have bad news.

Since i've upgraded the RAM, just have to get a new mother board, case and PSU soon.

      • P.S i waited an extra 2 weeks on top pickup time. Then they said they had already had it ready for a week??? Service was ok.. Build was okay so far

        just remembered this

    • You guys buy a lot of computers

    • Haha lol, I haven't been incentivised to post a review but I have seen people bashing TechFast a lot and I thought I would throw in my experience. I'm not really sure what to say. In all honesty, waiting 1 month is annoying but for the price that I am getting it, I am fine waiting and also, the case is quite small. Impossible to fit a 3.5" HDD in it but they did include a SATA cable with it. I wouldn't mind making this into an advertorial if I can get something but I payed full price like everyone else. I actually payed a bit extra at about $1079 after discount as I was a bit stupid and payed for a 240GB SSD upgrade and 8 to 16GB RAM. Please let me know if there is anything else that you would like to ask me about. I certainly had plenty of doubts and seeing many other reviews, I was hesitant to purchase a TechFast but mine was good. However it looks like TechFast's treatment is random. Some people have shit experiences with them but I had a pretty good experience. I'm going to play a bit of GTA V tonight. I'll let you know how it runs. Havent gamed on it yet. Probably shouldnt have made a review before gaming but Ill update u anyway.

    • SSD included? Was it the Alibaba Allied rebadge?

    • -1

so again.. same as last "review", took a month to deliver, got some mysterious free upgrade out of nowhere…..
these reviews smell like a crock of shit

      • Except TechFast is known for throwing in random upgrades when they don't have the component your original build clarified.

There has been constant bashing of TechFast recebtly from people who haven't even purchased from them yet. When I purchase a system from them I'll be sure to leave a similar review just for your tinfoil hat.

    • -1

      sock puppet…..

  • I just received my computer.

I am not paid or being asked by them to leave a review.

    I ordered April 22nd (3600, 2080S, B45M2, 16gb 3200 upgraded, 480gb upgraded SSD, 750W basic PSU, Thermaltake H18)

    What I received:

    • Everything above, but they upgraded the mobo for free (without telling me so bonus!) to a gigabyte B450m H
    • 2080S is the Galax EX card (white with 3 fans and RGB)
    • RAM is some brand I don't recognize (typing this on the PC so I forgot to memorize the name of it, but I can check if someone wants)

    Pros

    • Extremely cheap
    • Very well put together; cable management is great, absolutely no qualms about this
    • Free upgrades
    • Plenty of cooling — 2 intake fans up front, 1 exhaust fan; CPU is 60C idle and GPU is 30C idle (ambient 22C)
    • Good packaging and shipping; everything was very well protected
    • They put some rubber stickers in to hold the GPU up and prevent sag (well thought out TF!)

    Cons

    • Long wait time (shipping was 1 week, build completed in 16 business days)
    • On turning on the system, the Galax was making a terrible sound from the fans; I re-seated it and it is fine now; must have been a cable touching it somewhere
    • Box of manuals and cables shipped separately so I do not have it yet, it is due to arrive tomorrow; I need it to install a spare SSD I have
    • That box hopefully will contain the CPU cooler mobo mounting brackets; I need those to install my aftermarket cooler
    • Cheapo power supply (I have a corsair vengeance 750m I will install tomorrow when the box of cables/manuals comes in and hopefully I can do the cooler then too)

Communication was reasonable. They responded immediately when I had no update on business day 15 and informed me of the reason for the delay (GPUs still in shipping). Other than that, no issues.

For the price, you really can't go wrong. I'm very impressed with TF and would buy again from them. Thanks!

      An update

I got the box of supplies yesterday, pulled apart the computer and put in my own psu, new cpu cooler and a spare ssd I have.

The pc is now idling at 35-40 cpu, 30-35 gpu and 60-65 cpu, 60-70 gpu on load.

I have overclocked the cpu to 4ghz all cores stable (I don’t want to push this too much, I’m happy with this) and 200 core, 700 memory on the gpu. Everything is stable after running heaven overnight on a loop.

The front case fans are annoyingly whiny. Cheapo allied case fans. I have ordered replacements for these.

The case is ok. It’s small but easy to work in. Likely something I will upgrade down the road when I upgrade the mobo for B550.

Still an amazing price from techfast. I’m really happy overall.

  • pulled apart the computer and put in my own psu, new cpu cooler

TechFast reserves the right to reject a return, refund, warranty claim, or consumer guarantee claim if:

*Consumers damage the product by making alterations not performed by us

  • Recently received my TechFast order. I got the Ryzen 9 3900 Productivity package ("$200 off"). Overall happy with the order - it did take over the "14 business days", was sent on the 17th business day. I do understand with everyone placing orders and WFH etc., but of course quicker would have been nicer.

As for parts, I wrote to confirm (as was part of the "deal") that I would get certain brands (i.e. "first 20 will get x brand mobo, x brand PSU), to which I did, but it did take some prodding to get this out of them. Here's how my build ended up:

Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Processor
CPU Cooling: Deepcool Gammax L240T Blue 240mm
    Case: Deepcool Matrexx 50 RGB ADD-RGB 4F
    Motherboard: MSI X570-A Pro
Graphics Card: Biostar RX 550 4GB Graphics Card (place holder for post-COVID price reductions and possibly new series)
    Memory: ADATA Gammix D30 32GB DDR4 [3200MHz] (2 x 16GB)
    SSD 1: Crucial P1 1TB m.2 NVME SSD
    SSD 2: Crucial BX500 1TB
    Power Supply: Gigabyte G750H

Overall cost: $1,989.99 (build, postage, warranty etc. included)

I did a very quick comparison noting this doesn't include specials, eBay Plus deals etc. etc., shipping, labour to build etc. - these were the cheapest prices using Google Shopping/Static Ice:

    CPU: $720 - CCPU Computers
    CPU Cooler: $94 - Skycomp
    Case: $109 - MWave
    MB: $269 - SaveOnIt
Graphics Card: $150-170 - COTD (MSI Brand, not Biostar - couldn't find specifically)
    Memory: $249 - MWave
    SSD1: $190 - IJK Enfield
    SSD2: $147 - Skycomp
    PSU: $138 - CPL

    Total: $2,086

When it comes to the packaging, it was excellent as people have commented.
Shipping time was good considering the environment also.

As far as performance - initial test results here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/userrun/29607437

Obvious GPU bottleneck, as mentioned above, this is due to an upgrade that will happen when prices become realistic again, and/or new series comes out. I run an Apple Cinema 30" @ 1440p, only at 60hz, so I won't go crazy (somewhere in the 5700XT/2070S range). PerformenceTest10 hit 33k+, which was above average. Temps idle between 40-55c, which is standard for this chip.

I really like the case - I was surprised as it retails for quite cheap compared to the bigger brands. It's silent, has decent airflow (I thought it would be worse for the reviews I'd seen). The RGB is balance, not too over the top.

Cable management is mostly good - some stray cables, but nothing that is too much of an eye-sore. Better than I could do - and I also can't be bothered to strip it and do it again. If you are OCD and expect what you see on r/battlestations, please lower your expectations.

  • Merged from My Experience: Purchasing from Techfast for The First Time

Just briefly detailing my experience with Techfast, to help anyone thinking of purchasing their builds.

I ordered their RTX 4070Ti Super, R7-7800X3D from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/846210/ on the 27/5/24.

My PC was delivered on the 26/6/24. Definitely WAAAY outside the advertised build time window, but the support team (Zac was who I dealt with throughout the entire process) were communicative as to why delays were expected (a delayed shipment of GPU's from their supplier).

Zac would respond to my questions within 24 hours, and was obliging with post-delivery support too, when I had questions RE fan headers RGB etc.

The PC is working flawlessly, and I have experienced no issues thus far.

While the delay regarding build time was frustrating, as I was receiving updates and kept in the loop I was not too dissapointed. However I think it could be a good idea for Techfast to increase their estimated shipping time on their website. No one is upset when something comes earlier than advertised, but everyone gets irritated when they are waiting longer.

Would I buy from Techfast again? Yes, but I would lower my expectations RE build times.

    • Sounds like one of the better experiences.

      • +2

    • +3

Posted like a true socketpuppeter IMHO.

    • This is literally my exact experience with the same deal. Ordered 25/5 and received 25/6. Was a little peeved as I was told the delay was due to no PNY GPU's available and they were waiting on replacement Gigabyte GPU's. When my PC finally rock up, it has a PNY GPU in it….a few white lies appear to have been told.

PC runs great and overall I'm happy but the processing/building/delivery times need a serious review.

@Kallumoose have you had any issues with your fan RGB's? Everytime I shutdown my PC, the next time it's turned on my lights are reset back to full colour despite me turning them off previously. I have to manually turn the fan lights off everytime I turn my PC on with the button on the case which is pretty annoying. I just want them off permanently.

    • -1

I've bought 2 PC's from them. Had zero issues with them.

    • I'm still waiting for my order as well! They really need to clear their backlog before posting new deals and taking on new orders. Not happy Jan!
