Can these be converted to natural gas easily or is there a NG model?

    • -7

      there is no asian model

    • Weber have both NG and LPG. You can't convert them though

      • You can convert them. Seen quite a few people do it online.

Weber used to do it themselves for ~$250 or so inc parts. You could buy the parts for around $100.

I bought this BBQ a few months back in the Qantas deal. Very happy with it.

  • How much better is this then the family q!

    • That's what I'd like to know too

    • I did a bit of research before buying my spirit ii. General consensus is that they both cook really well. So go with whichever suits your area better or whichever you can get the better deal on.

    • I switched from a Family Q to this in January. Here is my view of the differences.

      Genesis Pros:

      • Fits more (duh!)
      • Higher quality materials and build
      • Can cook an indirect roast and direct food at the same time.
      • The iGrill connects natively.. so I get phone alerts during a cook if my gas is going to run out - great for low/slow/long cooks
      • The griddle is contained and deep - you can fit plenty in there. Compared to the griddle plate on a Family Q which didn't really hold anything in and onions ended up on the ground when I overloaded it a bit.
      • The Family Q is kind of an awkward shape so you often wasted some of the little grill space available.
      • 10 year warranty compared to the 5 of the Family Q

      Family Q Pros:

      • Smaller so good for small cooks (e.g. 2x steaks for a mid-week dinner)
      • Easier to move around due to size
      • Can (kinda) be removed from Cart and taken camping or similar… but this would probably be better with a Q or Baby Q
      • Side trays fold down so it takes up hardly any space - good for balcony

      Both taste great.
Both take 10 minutes to heat up.
      Both are lid down cooking.

I think there is space in my life for a Q (maybe a Baby Q) and also the Genesis. Keep the Baby for camping and small cooks… but use the Genesis for most things.

Does it come with all the pictured accessories?

Highly recommended Weber. Yes they are more expensive but the quality and after sales customer service is incredible.

I use our submit 5-6 days a week. It's just a pleasure to use and easy to clean.

  • Heat & Grill's service is fantastic. Can't recommend them enough.

  • Anyone know if and when the Weber Summit bbqs ever go on sale or discounted anywhere?
