  • $87.94 with free delivery via Aminoz as described up the to. Apply the price beat. Very happy with that.

  • Is the Shoe sizing in US?

  • +1

Great deal OP as I usually buy 2.8kg at Costco for 99.95.

  • This protein is junk. Why do people go so crazy over it?

    • +2

It's not junk, but people do go crazy over it.

Marketing usually works best. But these do taste nice.

      • +1

Nah, it's junk. Pathetic protein profile, GMO soy-based emulsifiers, artificial sweeteners (Acesulfame-k and Sucralose) and artificial flavours that have been banned in many countries and require warning labels in the EU. It's the MacDonalds of protein powders.

        • +1

I've had a look at the ingredients, it says protein blend (WPIs, WPCs, whey peptides), cocoa powder, licithin, natural and artificial flavour, acesulfame K, lactase.
Which part indicates GMO soy emulsifiers and banned artificial flavours? Just curious.

          • @pe arl: The soy lecithin used is from GMO soy beans. If it was non-GMO they would proudly state it on the label. FD&C yellow 5, as used in the banana flavour contains known carcinogens, as do many of the other colourings: https://cspinet.org/new/201006291.html

            • +4

@aldroid: Their evidence for these food colourings causing cancer is testing on rats where they made it 10% of their diet and there was an increase in immune system cancer for the rats. What human is going to have 10% of their diet made up of food colouring?

        • What protein powder do you take?

  • +5

I think amino Z have now blocked the price beat, dodgy af.

Whether logged in as a member or not, go through the PB process, says its all good, but in the cart it's gone.

Really hating them (as a Z member) lately. Getting shafted compared to non-members

    • You need to adjust the link
      OP link: https://derrimut247.com.au/shop/optimum-nutrition-100-gold-s…

need to change it to adjust for the weight (the part after the last "=" sign)
      https://derrimut247.com.au/shop/optimum-nutrition-100-gold-s…

With this, you should get 2.27kg for $49.24 delivered

      • Already adjusted many iterations ago, on the first try..

Did you actually try what you posted? It doesn't work.

Like I said, I can already get the price beat to work, on the product page, when you add to cart and go through to the cart, the price beat is no longer there. Logged in or not.

I am actually using their main product url, which isn't the problem.

        Eg https://derrimut247.com.au/shop/optimum-nutrition-100-gold-standard-whey/

        • +1

yup it works for me, I could get to the page where it tells you to enter your credit card details, and the link you use is wrong, it needs to be more specific like the link I posted

          Your Link (https://derrimut247.com.au/shop/)(optimum-nutrition-100-gold-standard-whey/)(optimum-nutrition-100-gold-standard-whey/)
          My Link (https://derrimut247.com.au/shop/)(optimum-nutrition-100-gold-standard-whey/)(?attribute_pa_flavour=double-rich-chocolate&attribute_pa_weight=2-27-kg)
          Remove the ()

          • @ln28909: Nope. Still doesn't work, using your link. I've tried it 3 times.

          • @ln28909: Works for me too

            • @Alwaysr: https://aminoz.com.au?p=J99T3DHB56

              Those are my settings.

Double Choc is the most horrible protein flavour I've ever had, in 8 years of training. I don't know why people think it's nice

Perhaps I've gotten the flavour info wrong? I've never had this much trouble manually price beating before. Used it many times.

              • +1

@nismo: If you're not ordering the double rich chocolate but says banana flavour then you need to change the link accordingly.

When you first do the PB before adding to cart, there hasn't been a verification step yet, so when you add to cart, the bot will go to that website and have a look to see if what you said is true

So if the link doesn't land on the product that you want to PB right away, the bot would reject it.

Thatt's why you have to make sure the URL directs you to the product that you want PB after just following the link, instead of having to click on extra stuff

  • Thank OP, just bought Double Rich Chocolate, 2.27 kg and Strawberry Banana, 2.27 kg. At a $106 that's 0.72c a shot and quite a bargain!

    • -3

FD&C Red 40. Look it up.

      • +3

It's hardly in there, these proteins are not strongly coloured, it's just a hint, there's probably 20 times as much in a jelly bean and the basis of their findings is giving it to rats as 10% of their diet, obviously no human is going to consume anywhere near that and improving the nutritional status by having adequate protein in your diet is more likely to prevent cancer than cause it by a couple of drops of food colouring.

        • What about the cumulative effect. These are carcinogens and you're consuming them every day (sometimes several times a day). Why would you take the chance when there are better, cleaner alternatives available?

          • +1

@aldroid: They cost 40% more. It gets expensive eating properly. By the time I have had my eggs, meat, vegetables, fruit, almond milk, soy milk, multivitamin, fish oil, good cereal, nuts and seeds, cheese, yoghurt. Adds up quickly. I don't think a drop of food colouring every day is going to kill me considering how good the rest of my diet usually is I think that should negate my risk so I would prefer to save $1 a day with this.

              • @aldroid: That's whey protein concentrate, this is whey protein isolate which has 90% effective protein compared to 80%, less carbs, less fats and more easily digested so you don't spend the rest of the day cramped and farting. ;) the whey protein isolate of your brand is $48 a kg I checked.

                • @rudiger1234: You realise the ON Gold is a blend of WPC, WPI and peptides. And I'm happy to have the extra fats and carbs. In fact I add more carbs because they're important. Fortunately, I have no cramping or flatulence with the professional whey products. Maybe that comes from the artificial sweeteners messing with your gut flora.

            • @rudiger1234: The fact that you do all that is even more reason why you shouldn't poison your body with this junk. What about the artificial sweeteners? The soy lecithin? Anyway, each to their own.

              • @aldroid: I already put an equal tablet in my coffee every morning and every night I have sugar free jelly, as a bit of a sugar fiend in a past life I feel crook and like I am missing out if I don't have at least something that tastes sweet every day. It's much harder to eliminate something from your diet than to replace it with a better option. The amount of artificial sweeteners used are microscopic and virtually zero calories and approved by the health authorities, that's enough for me.

                • -1

@rudiger1234: Mate, I don't want to get onto a whole other discussion here but Aspartame is a horrible horrible chemical. I understand your need for something sweet but you really should consider switching to sorbitol (or other alcohol based sweeteners) or Stevia.

              • +1

@aldroid: To be honest I hadn't really thought about it, it's on the radar now but it's a bit late considering a just bought 7kg of this stuff but when I finally get through it I'll give your brand a try and see if there's a difference.

              • +8

@aldroid: Mate you’ve replied about 77 times about people’s choices. Clearly your “each to their own” statement holds no truth in your mind. Been annoying reading your comments to be honest.

                • +1

@[Deactivated]: Understood. It's only because I care. I will stop.

                  • +1

@aldroid: You're an idiot. Professional whey unflavoured tastes like shit and doens't mix well. But "each to their own" right?

                    • -1

@spiff: Anyone who chooses their protein powder based on flavour is the idiot mate. Do you even f-ing lift.

                      • -2

                          • @aldroid: Ok Crossfit enjoy your next orthopaedic appointment and your next scoop of backwash protein

      • Thanks for the information, mate. You give valid points and I will consider them. I'd love to read some peer-reviewed scientific journal articles to support your statements on FC&C Red 40 if you could please link?

Remember that everyone is entitled to their own choices. Present me all the facts on both sides and I will make my own mind up.

I daresay, by the time I get old I'm likely to "dye" of one cancer or another. The chances of it being food colouring could be quite slim. I probably have a higher risk of contracting COVID19.

  • Is this good for underweight people to gain weight? Is it a healthy way to put on weight?

    • -3

This would be a horrible way to attempt to gain weight. If you can't gain weight by eating a sufficiently balanced diet and maintaining a carb surplus then look at supplementing with a clean protein powder and add some waxy maize starch. If you are training at high intensity levels you could also add some dextrose or maltodextrin to your protein shakes to ensure you're getting enough calories.

As said, natural is possibly better but if you're really looking for supplements and need that boost, then this is the same brand with a much higher calorie count.

    • +5

Personally I don't bother with store bought mass gainer as other commenters have suggested. In my opinion its artificial and tastes bad when you could get those carbs from natural better tasting sources, which are also cheaper. What has had good results with me, and also with my skinny friends is this:

*1 scoop Whey protein isolate or concentrate (vanilla tastes best in this, chocolate is second. This one in the link would suit fine, I usually go for Bulknutrients when there are no better deals)
*1-2 same size scoop of quick or rolled oats (avoid Woolworths brand it tastes like shit raw, Aldi or Coles brand is good, great natural and cheap source of carbs). MOre carbs = more weightgain
*1 Bananna for the carbs and potassium (get these from your fruit n veg shop if you can, support a local store and they are cheap as chips!)
*1 HEAPED Tablespoon peanut butter for the good fats!
*optional - handfull of frozen mixed berries (for good taste and health)
*optional - frozen mango, makes the shake reaally thick if you add more than a tiny bit. Like a thickshake
*optional - 2 teaspoons of chia seeds (for good taste and health)
*fill to top of tall shake glass or very large mug (I'm talking those faaat mugs they have at Kmart) with milk

Blend it all up with a cheapo stick blender I got for like $15 at Kmart

Tastes great so it won't be a chore, personally I find whey on its own tastes rather bad. Bonus it will really help you put on some healthy weight :) I have it every day for breakfast, and/or after I workout. You can change up the taste by varying the frozen berries. (Strawberries, blueberries, mixed berries) You can even add a spoon of cacao powder if you like it chocolatey.

Combine with a balanced diet and exercise of course. If you really are struggling with weight, consider a bit of meal prep, you don't have to go mad, but it helped me. Bonus is it saves you tonnes of money, buying 10 of your meals for the week as groceries is a lot cheaper than eating out.

What I did, each Sunday before work I'd prepare 2 meals per day (my breakfast or dinner I'd leave to my choice on that specific day). I'd usually do 5 each of two dishes, in each dish I'd have basically a source of protein, some carbs, some veg. A nice trick I found, prepare the rice and curry or whatever and cook it. Then put it into your lunchbox, then add the frozen veg and freeze the whole thing. When you microwave the meal the veg gets cooked nicely. Makes it so easy to eat tonnes of veggies in the week! If you don't like your rice having the curry soak it, freeze the curry in your lunchboxes first. Then add the rice and veggies and freeze that.

      Go to dishes:
*100g chicken curry of some sort, frozen broccoli or green beans, rice
*can of tuna, frozen veg, rice
*100g roast chicken, veg, roast potato
      *lasagna with veg and beef
      *spag bol with veg added

Again you don't have to go mad with it, don't be daunted! Anything you do to reach your desired goal is a move in the positive direction, no matter how small. :)

HELP PLEASE: is AminoZ legit. They just sent me an email asking for a photo of my credit card and a statement with my name and address on it to be forwarded to them in order to process the order to say I’m not fraudulent with the credit card! They seem dodgy to me!

    • They didn't ask me but I did it a few hours ago and I think they would be in shock just how many people have done this today that they think it's all heading to China or something now, they wouldn't be able to work out how on Earth so many people did this deal today, they would be reeling.

      • +1

The owner of amino Z is regularly on here and posting deals too. I'd be very surprised if they haven't seen this. They know exactly where their Web traffic comes from..

@fatming, they are absolutely legit, up to you whether you are comfortable doing that or not.

Why don't you look up the store deals here? I'm surprised you don't seem to be aware of amino Z lol.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/aminoz.com.au

Their hand sanitiser deal from last week has 700+ up votes

    • They are part of cash rewards so they are legit.

  • I tried a number of times and price beat will not load to checkout?

    • I am experiencing the same crap…

  • Price rebounced a bit to $56.95(5lbs) and $101.95(10lbs) now

    • Thank you updated listing

  • +8

AminoZ never put order 'On hold' for this long, seems like they don't want to take the price beat lol, what a …. er

    • Same here and I ordered within the first hour.

      • They would have run out of stock for sure.

    • +1

How do you know when it’s on hold and when it’s been approved? I decided to use afterpay with my price beat earlier when the deal came out - and at least afterpay took my first pay.

      • go to 'My account' -> order status

        • +1

ahh thanks for that, yeah mine is on hold as well. Would be surprised if they declined it as aminoz generally get good feedback from ozbargain and the deal was at least legit.

          • @eltito: What does it say now?

            • +3

@telf22: Just checked it says closed. Checked on view more details. Says order has been refunded.

wow, poor customer service on their part. Ozbargain tends to give them good feedback but I doubt I’ll be shopping there again.

    • Mine now says Order Status: Closed and that it’s apparently been refunded… even though they haven’t sent me an email to let me know anything…

      • Mine says Closed too..

  • Why do people buy this ON gold standard whey so much? It seems to be the brand I see most on Ozbargain, but it doesn't seem to be that cheap? Is there something I am missing?

    • +2

Does the basics right (flavour, mix ability), widely available, decent amount of protein per serve and not overly expensive.

Basically suits majority of fitness folk.

  • Any good deals on Derrimut gym memberships?

  • +2

Kind of bummed that the AminoZ method isn't working.

    • i emailed them and got this back ..

“Our back end team is currently working on it. Please allow within 24 hours, due to the amount of price beat requests we received. I apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.”

      • Does your order status say closed too?

  • +1

My order with AminoZ now says Order Status: Closed and that it’s apparently been refunded… even though they haven’t sent me a single email to let me know anything or actually refunded

    • +1

Speaking with customer support online, apparently an email will be coming out in 10 mins. I told them how disappointed I was as I missed out on the original deal by choosing to go with Aminoz

      • +4

Completely agreed. Poor service on their part. I’m curious to see what reasoning they’ll use to not honour our orders.

  • +9

I just got a cancellation email,
wonder what price beat T/C was not adhered to

    Hi Beefcake

I'm writing to you in relation to the Price Beat order that you placed yesterday (#1000000).

Firstly I would like to thank you for choosing to shop with us over our competitor.

We received a very high number of similar orders yesterday from this competitor which was priced significantly below cost. Within just a few hours, the sum of these orders resulted in several tens of thousands of dollars of loss to the company - something that is not sustainable by us as a small company, especially during this very uncertain economic period.

I am very sorry to say that as a result we cannot proceed with this price beat in line with our price beat guidelines. On a personal note, this has been a very tough decision as I do understand that this will impact the trust that you have as to the integrity of our company. It is however a necessary decision so we can continue to operate, provide jobs and offer value to our customers.

We have closed off your order and are now processing your refund which should arrive back in your account shortly.

It seems that products are still available on our competitor's website and so I encourage you to purchase directly from them. Further for the inconvenience and disappointment, we will be crediting your Amino Z account with $20 in Z Points that can be used as store credit on any future order. This credit should arrive in your account within the next week.

    • +3

oh well, they apologised, it doesnt happen often, they cancelled quickly

i will still continue to buy off them

    • Ordered 2 from them, wonder if that means $40 in points. $20 Z points don't mean very much, it just means having to buy stuff I don't need to get free shipping, or buying a cheap shaker or something and using the rest for shipping. Would rather have just got the original deal from Derrimut yesterday.
As for the T&Cs they've covered themselves with this: 'We may also refuse any price beats which are significantly below our cost price that are unsustainable to honour by our company.'

      • +1

im happy to get the $20 that I can apply to my next order

      • +1

if my order is going to be part of a $10,000 loss for them, im happy that they cancelled

        • +5

I hope they remove the price beat crap on the website. Only went via them for that reason, missed the original deal

    • +10

Small company and Price Beat guarantees do not good well together

    • +3

Beefcake lol my order was cancelled as well. I don't blame them, this could sink a small company right now. They had to do it. I'm getting a $20 credit, I'm not mad at them for deciding not to take a massive hit.

    • Doesn't mean they should be charging a premium compared to this gym, its like 100% profit for them, greedy

    • +1

RIP AminoZ, unless Ailene start sending nudes!

    • Well, that's great they gave the $20 credit. They are a good lot, AminoZ I can see…

  • +2

Order was cancelled. Ended up buying from Derrimut for $101 since its a good price anyways.

    • Yeah same here, still a great deal

  • +3

    Damn it..
The 4.5kg was out of stock when i tried ordering yesterday..
Got the aminoz one instead for better price..
    Everything confirmed.

Today get an email they are cancelling all orders.. fml

    • Yep, same.

      • +4

        Ended up ordering from derrimut..
Seems they restocked and jacked price to $101

  • Would i still be able to price beat again via Aminoz at the new price or do you think they will also cancel that order?
I mean, once the $20 credit comes in, wouldn't i be able to price match against derrimut, apply $20 credit, and ultimately pay less for protein than before?

EDIT: Oops, Aminoz won't let you price match to derrimute247 anymore. Don't worry!

  • Did anyone receive any shipping or tracking details from Derrimut247?
I placed the order yesterday and haven't received an estimated delivery date or anything other info.
How long do they usually take to deliver?

  • +2

The IRONY, just received this email, complete with spelling error, can only laugh

Hi, just checking in regarding your visit yesterday with that incomplete order. Did you need any help?

Here's a link to your shopping cart to complete your order:

PS. Also, don't FORWARD about our 10% price beat. If you find cheaper, just click on the "PRICE BEAT" button before adding the product into your cart. It takes roughly 12 seconds to apply.
