Please note that they are taking ages to ship. And that's on top of the Australia Post delays. I ordered 2 items late March. One got refunded over 2 weeks later, one has yet to arrive. Their communication is not great either.

    • I just had mine delivered today - ordered April 3, shipping manifest issued 7 April, dead silence until it arrived at my door today.

    • I think delivery delays are normal now days. I had my orders from David Jones 10 days ago and the parcel tracking is still saying in Sydney somewhere for a week now. Online shopping is BOOMING !!! Australia Post is not really ready for that yet.

AusPost should work on sat/sun too for some weeks to clear huge backlog! (Yes of course with additional sweet wages to their drivers for weekends).

        • +3

They've been delivering on Saturdays lately at least for me

    • Agree! Ordered in the mid March and still have not received my item yet. Contact via facebook messenger and live chat on page and it takes ages to reply. What a fail in e-commerce.

The joke is that they laid off 2,000 staff from shops around Australia, and are now trying to fulfil all orders from a single distribution centre on the East Coast. If they would just ship some items from the shops, they could keep people employed, reduce shipping times, reduce load on Australia Post, and wouldn't have to refund items which their distribution centre ran out of.

Isn't the normal price for Kathmandu jacket? I see it everyday in shop. Only eBay $5 off code - PIZZA5 makes slightly cheaper.

I see it everyday in shop.

      Shop? What's a shop? :)

But considering that the winter is coming and shops are closed, this is actually pretty good deal for a warm jacket.

      • Agreed, for a down jacket it's a very good price. Patagonia you are looking at $350-400 for a down jacket although they are 800 fill vs 600.

Yep, it will keep you nice and warm at home.

Anything that is less than 60% off at Kathmandu is not a bargain

Good ol' Katmandoo and their inflated RRP.

    • The number is 40%-50% for supermarket.

  • Thoughts on the KMDMerino?

A water repellent jacket lol. We used to call these rain coats, but they were probably cheaper then!

    • +3

This is not a rain coat. It is not waterproof. It just "encourages" water off it.

Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish - which encourages water to bead off the fabric's surface

      • Logged in to say this. This is a down vest, its principle purpose is warmth, but down has the downside (like the pun?) of losing most of its function when wet. The selling point of this particular down vest is that the outer fabric is water repellent which makes it less likely that the down inside will become wet.

        • +1

Although your comment is entirely correct in principal, the jacket (not vest) referenced is actually a fully synthetic fill, which supposedly still functions partially in providing warmth when wetted out.

      • +3

Perhaps they should call it a water discourager then lol. Today's marketers probably think that a rain coat is an outer item of clothing that encourages rain.

  • With state and world borders closed for the forseeable future, I don't think us QLDers will have much use for jackets.. lol
