Wooden decanter??? Not sure if its a good idea.

good enough for this drop i'd say

I think wine is stored in wooden barrels, typically oak

Pretty sure the internals are plastic, so it's most likely just for show. Don't see how the wine can breathe with this contraption.

    • It says Wine Decanter in the title but Refinery & Co Whiskey Barrel Wine Dispenser in the T&C

Amazon review says plastic lining and plastic tap, also says it doesnt flow well

    • +2

It's no goon bag, but it'll do.

  • thanks - bought and redeemed

    • Is the order confirmation email sufficient for claim as receipt?

      • I submitted this but then realised you get a tax invoice sent one they pick your order so I submitted that as well.

Video on how to use it (not a wooden tap) but it looks like the real deal.

    • Thanks you saved me from jumping on this deal :)
What a pain in the butt.

My goon comes in a similar contraption

These are just show barrells with plastic bladders and cant be used for barrel aging.

heres a good guide and video for those that want to get info on barrel aging

normal price apparently is $27/bottle i.e. ~$30 bottle of wine. should be good for a chug-a-lug boys.

    • +1

      $30 bottle of Jacob's creek?

      • I good example of an initial pricing strategy causing a pigeon hole the company can’t dig its way out of.

    • yeah - reviews suggest keeping it a few years to soften the grippy tanins

    • +1

Ohohohoho, just slosh it into a glass and have a cheeky chug-a-lug!

      • +1

finally someone who got the reference!

    • +1

Wow I won't tell you what I normally spend on wines then…. $30 is a 'nice' bottle to me.

    • +1

FYI this was a cheeky reference to the Aunty Donna Skit Haven't You Done Well 6: $30 Bottle of Wine - Trendy Ep05. I wasn't commenting on whether this is good value or good wine.

Don't forget to use a disposable email, a PO Box for delivery and ideally a non-genuine name when you redeem, otherwise you're going to be bombarded with marketing and have you personal details sold on to as money people as they can monetise it to:

"Your Personal Information is being collected by Pernod Ricard Winemakers Pty Ltd (the Promoter) for the purposes of … the Promoter may use your personal information for direct marketing. … The Promoter may also share your Personal Information with other companies or individuals who assist us in providing products or services or who perform functions on its behalf (such as direct marking companies, mailing houses, couriers, consultants and service providers). Dan's has these for $19.95 ATM
The only value here is what you feel the freebie is worth.

    • They've acted quick, I thought it was $2X when I was looking at it.

      • It was

      • They have a 2013 for $29.95, but their 2016 or whatever is $19.95

  • Is this only claimable from BWS? I need to hit my spend for First Choice AMEX rebate :P

    • Not interested in 10% off $100 spend

    • I don't think so, BWS was just the cheapest when I searched for it.

  • The seventies called, they want their decanter back.

  • I am going to take the barrel caravaning. Good for a laugh.

  • Nowhere in the T&Cs does it mention which are the participating stores
