    Hand Sanitiser Palmolive 48ml

What happend to the missing 2ml ???

    • +4

For $3 I am not overly concerned. You are up late tonight JV.

      • +13

You are up late tonight JV.

You snooze, you looze around here.

        • +1

Lol. I fell asleep too early tonight, not my usual, now I am awake far too early.

These are not technically a special (thought you may be razzing me about that) but appears to be the ‘normal’ price … not the ridiculous rip off prices we have been seeing of late.

          • -2

            @JediJan: Paid $20 1l. By that price this costs… $60 A litre

            • +2

@Slippery Fish: Tiny bottles are always expensive. You need to up your game

              https://www.hicraftsafety.com.au/Hospital-Grade-Hand-Sanitis…

            • @Slippery Fish: I have only ever bought the little handy bottles and hand wipes to put in my bag and car for use when out. Only use soap or the sanitising hand wash at home. I don’t think it really necessary, in normal circumstances, to use hand sanitiser at home. But yes, if you use a lot, and can find it, the large bottles work out far much cheaper. Some people find these hand sanitizers drying on their hands. Not sure about this particular one, although it does say it has added Vitamin E.

              • +1

@JediJan: I gota have it for when we take them exercising or do the shopping etc.

                • @Slippery Fish: If you can find them I would buy the larger bottles and refill the smaller ones for placing in your pockets, bags and cars. I actually prefer to buy Dettol sanitising hand wipes over the bottles but unable to locate these lately, so our supply has run low. My gymnasium has sanitising wipes handy in several locations and supermarket also has them handy next to the trolleys.

    Normal price… not a bargain.

    • +19

Technically yes, as I mentioned earlier, but if you prefer to buy from an online store plus delivery I think you will be paying closer to $10.
Sorry for trying to be helpful.

      • +3

Fair call, I guess the beg was a little harsh. Thanks for posting anyway ^_^

        • +2

I have shown link to the similar Dettol product if you prefer that.
Perhaps we could have had a temporary category for COVID19.
          🙂

Sorry for trying to be helpful.

Maybe post it on OzHelpful ??

        • +4

Well I know I have not been around much of late …
But I feel at least one person in OzBargain would be happy with these. 🙂

      • +3

Sorry for trying to be helpful.

        I accept your apology

    • $60 litre is normal price LMAO?

      • No?

  • +2

These are great! We are currently using the Japanese cherry blossom variant and the kids love it. Smells nice and is non-sticky

  • +3

    Here's the product link https://www.kmart.com.au/product/palmolive-limited-edition-h…

Note it says in store only so you can't do click and collect as op is suggesting

    • +1

Changed listing to read [in store only].
I did not suggest click and collect but may have been mistaken as such so thank you for heads up. 😊

      • +1

        No worries ! 🤠

  • +1

i guess these are only good to have in your pocket if heading out and you need a few applications, i never noticed hand sanitizer outside of work before the plague, does palmolive and detol have like 700 ml or 1L refill some bottles of sanitizer which might eventually appear in coles or woolies again ?

    • +1

      200-250. 500. 1l 2l 5l 25l

    • +2

At home do the more sensible thing, use soap and water , much cheaper and effective as well.

Obviously as you say do the refill thing when stock is available

  • +1

Thanks for the post. Hopefully we are beginning to see Reasonable level of stocks become available again. TP now seems to be in abundance, again.

    • +5

Still havnt seen TP at my local Aldi or Woolies for 4-6 weeks. Thankful for Amazon.

      • Where?

      • +1

Sounds like the delivery is patchy, we have stacks of it in the Coles/Woollies supermarkets around us.

        • +1

Delivery isnt patchy, its the buyers, if you are in a large home work area, then since they cant crap at work……

        • I found a good supply of 4 packs in Coles (Cranbourne) earlier in week. First time I had seen any for a month. I wasn’t looking for them in particular so I was really surprised. What was even more surprising was the fact no one was buying them! I mentioned this to the checkout girl. Sounds like the hoarders are not buying so often now they have their 5 years supply.

  • Never seen this brand before

    • +7

      Time to go to specsavers

      • +6

I never understood how they were supposed to find spec savers. They would just wander into the wrong shop and come out wearing a chandelier or a couple of tiles.

    • Hygiene not a high priority?

  • +3

Is it perhaps time to get this site back to OzBargain and not OzHardToFind ??

  • Worth checking Woolies too as I went the other day and they have hand sanitiser (but not this same brand) behind the service desk. 60ml for $3.50.

    • -4

Exactly, $3 for a tiny bottle is way overpriced

  • +1

Find Palmolive sanitizers smell too strong, any one know alcohol %? Maybe I can mix with non-scented ones.

  • +4

this product has 60% ethanol. Made in Thailand (Colgate Thailand).

i prefer to use Ego - it has 70% and is hospital grade.

    • +1

      It's not even a preference, 60% simply isn't effective.

Probably why they're on fire sale.

    • +1

60% is not very effective. 70-80% is recommended.

  • +1

i wonder if they still have any left on the shelf?

    • I think there is a limit of 1 or 2 so there should be … I guess.

  • +1

FYI, this scent smells so much nicer than their other two scents. The others are sickly sweet. That said, sanitising is sanitising :)

    • +2

agree, the pink one is overwhelming like i had just dunked my hands in a vat of candy.
perhaps to drown out the alcoholic aromas.

      • I ordered the Cherry Blossom one from BigW and waiting for delivery, so will be able to check out the scent too. Same price $3 but was $7.90 postage. Have one little Dettol one left at home; scent is more like the antiseptic.

    • I found this one to smell like dishwashing liquid. YMMV.

      • Yes but refreshing (subjective). However, more importantly, the scent disappears after a minute

  • +1

In case anyone missed it I found the recent article about copper plate vs Covid19 interesting:

    https://www.9news.com.au/national/coppercoated-doorknobs-to-…

  • +1

Woolies Innaloo had the Cherry Blossom variety today. It was slow selling as the Dettol brand was better value. And Balnea even better value at 50ml @ $2.

    • Balnea causes your hands (or wherever else you dare apply it) to shrivel up like dried prunes. Potent stuff.
