Got my first delivery of it today and was honestly very surprised. Amazon said it would be coming April 21.

      • i bought mine last week on the thursday i think

still hasn't shipped but i think it will today

good to know it will come early, i think mine was slated for this thursday

        • Yeah just ordered it on the 9th - came today (14th). That's incredibly fast considering it was the Easter long weekend.
Sidenote though: soap I ordered on the 8th is still expected to come Friday.

Edit: someone got as early as 11th

      • Perhaps an Easter thing, they were saying 21-23 on heaps of my items but one arrived yesterday.

  • What was the dettol ones? 3 pack of 15 for $6+?

Amazon really tries to make it difficult sometimes. Please enter your password, please verify your address, please verify your payment method…

Still managed to order 1 before it gets OzBargain'd.

Ever heard of Amazon 1-Click ordering?. Look it up. 1 click and the order is done with your chosen preset address and credit card.

It's only you who's making it difficult for yourself.

      • I have 1-Click Ordering but Amazon decided to make it difficult by asking for my password, address and CVV to verify that I am who I say I am.

It's only Amazon making it difficult. Should be blatantly obvious when it wants to verify.

    • I just have to swipe to 'buy now'.

      • Just Amazon wanting to verify my identity. I thought that was clear (as why else would they verify payment details) but I guess not!

  • how do you buy 3 for $6?

    • I only bought 2, but just put through 2 orders and it seems to have worked.

      • same here.

        I thought there was a 3 pack for $6

    Limit of one per customer….

This. What an absolute waste of time, packaging etc etc

      • +1

Absolutely. I understand what they’re trying to do but when you factor in shipping it’s an obscene waste.

        • +1

When you see things like this, you can't help but agree with sentiment of how wasteful Western society is, they really shouldn't be allowed to do such things. I'm not by any means actively pushing it, but common sense should be used.

Regardless of your views on the bigger picture it's just rediculous.

          We shouldn't be encouraging it.

  • Bought 3 in seperate orders?

  • 2 seperate orders worked for me

Do these actually work against the virus or just bacteria?

    • +2

Current evidence is that Benzalkonium Chloride is less effective than soap or alcohol-based products like hand sanitiser or Isocol on coronavirus.

  • You can keep buying them separately

  • Would this be good to use on your phone?

    • sure

    • +1

Best is isopropyl alcohol swabs as they evaporate quickly and don't damage the screen. Unfortunately they are also hard to get. But IIRC these are not appropriate.

  • Thanks ordered two of the hand wipes, first time I've got any of this crap. Reasonable price too and good to keep in the car. Original got a couple From aldi by chance, similar and less than $2

    • Won't they dry out quicker if kept in car v/s kept at home?

      • +1

Probably, but barely go out these days and park undercover mostly and/or only out for a bit.
Easy enough to keep inside and take when go out as long as you remember.

    sold out i believe

    • Yep oos

  • What's the point if there's no alcohol?

      That's life in general

    *cheaper THAN

  • If these are anything like antibacterial sprays, it takes 10 minutes to kill the germs. It's not instant.

The only thing instant is the transfer of wealth to the company from your pocket

    • Also not sure if any anti-bacterial can be anti viral as well ,
Has there been any publication of anti-bacterial stuff effective against viruses?! Anti-bacterial wipes kill Covid which is a virus?

      • There's a couple of companies listed om ASX claiming their hand santisers have been tested on covid-19 & kill it

      • Alcohol-based products (if you can get them) are effective against most bacteria and viruses, so something like hand sanitiser works against coronaviruses for example. Other than that soap works on pretty much everything as it also kills a lot and washes away what it doesn't.

Tests have shown the Benzalkonium Chloride in this is less effective against coronaviruses, other potential ingredients not sure. Most likely they're all better than nothing as long they don't lull you into a false sense of security about handwashing and such.

    99.9% of germs…

What kind of germs? "Anti-bacterial" is, unless you're stupid as Trump, not something inherently active against VIRUSES.

Don't tell me this is just bog-standard home disinfectant? That's the wrong kind of stuff to be guaranteed to work as a wipe on COVID-19. Even an alcohol spray, which is hella effective, needs a few seconds of soaking to kill the virus not just a quick wipe.

Lots of shills and bold claims about at the moment. You can kill any virus with any substance if you hammer it long enough, doesn't mean it works as a wipe.
