The chilling novel account of a Martian invasion of London in the nineteenth century—a science fiction classic for all time.

eBay bad, Amazon good.
To be fair, it’s already in the Kindle format. Saves me the hassle of converting
Variety of formats on project gutenberg - include kindle, but yeah, it'll save you the hassle of uploading to your device.
Warning to all readers, the ending is a let down.
Thanks OP.
(I didn't know about this… so I appreciate it)The Time Machine by the same author is also free and a great read.
Yep, and The War In The Air.
Thanks, I bought the audiobook narration for both @ $2.99 each which I thought was a good deal.
Loved the Double LP & CD when I was a kid (showing my old age)
With you on that one. Still dig it out on occasions to have a listen on a long trip.
Extremely relevant given the current mass media joke/plandemic propaganda.
Audiobook:
This is a great book from an author who was way ahead of his time.
Not so great is the recent BBC TV adaptation which was terrible
I was wondering about that. Saw some pre-release stuff about it months ago. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll treat viewing with the appropriate caution, if I watch it at all.

Started off ok and then wow, it went sideways extremely quickly. Like half way shooting it they realised it was a stinker, canned an episode and condensed it further. Avoid.
The book on the other hand is a classic and a must read for anyone remotely interested in the genre.
There was a PC RTS game many years ago that was half decent as well.
I also recommend listening to Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of "The War of the Worlds". I'm not sure if it is on steaming services though; soundtrack licensing is very complex.
Absolute classic. Still have the vinyl I got off my dad, he bought when it was first released. Epic!
Have on original vinyl, CD and on Google Music :)
Please note before the end of this book there are a stack of other book previews which you will need to skip to get to the end.
What's the deal here? The book has been "public domain" for the better part of 50 years. It's available on project gutenberg in a variety of formats.
Next you'll be posting Jane Austen and William Shakespeare books as deals.
