Amex Statement Credits: Sony (Spend $600, Get $100), Farfetch (Spend $500, Get $100)

1060

Sony is limited to 40 000 cards, and Farfetch limited to 20 000 cards (and expires on May 26). Both are only available online - are Sony kiosks even open at this time?

No, you can't use it on Sony eBay. Farfetch may be targeted as it didn't show up on my DJs Amex.

  • Can't find the Sony one anywhere

What card do you have? It showed up on my DJs Amex, Westpac Platinum Amex and Velocity Escape cards, so I assume it's not targeted

No idea; sorry. This is a dumb question, but you did go into the Amex app and looked at the offers tab right?

I guess there's no manual link for it as I believe forumninja's already been here

        • I have the same card. I just added the offer from the offer tab on the app. The offers are still available to be added.

      • +1

I was also not able to find the Farfetch one but managed to find a link https://www.americanexpress.com/au/network/shopping.html and added the offer from there. However, no luck on the Sony offer.

    • My offers all disappeared for a while (direct debit didn't work properly, account got suspended and offers never reinstated)

For anybody else who doesn't see offers in the app / website, you can manually add them via this link https://www.americanexpress.com/au/network/shopping.html

Note - you will probably end up with fewer offers than you used to

  • When will Amex bring back addition % for point redemption… hanging out for one

  • It might be targeted? I got both offers but not activating as I don’t have anything I want/need to buy from either.

  • Thanks op! got both offers but only needed Sony, cheers.

  • Any chance this could work at the Sony kiosk like last time? I know it says online only, not sure if the terms last time listed the same condition but worked anyway

Edit: the last sony deal specified in store purchase so I guess this is definitely online only

    • Try it out and let us know.

  • Second point under T&C

"Excludes transactions where you do not spend directly with your Card to which the offer is saved, at Sony at store.sony.com.au. Offer valid at Australian website only."

    So online only.

I suppose if PS5 pre-order opens before offer expiry then you basically get $100 off, assuming it'll likely be >$600 AUD with current AUDUSD rate. It'll probably be >$1000AUD if it is any prices of >$599USD

Amex deals are just getting worse and worse over the last 12 months.

  • Farfetch is kinda far-fetched in this economic environment..

  • is ps5 coming in a month time? i want to use this offer to buy my ps.

    • PS5 is due towards end of 2020 (around Nov) but with everything going on who knows.

    • not a chance, wasn't due till late in the year but with all the supply chain disruptions it would not surprise me if they delay.

  • Is the Sony offer Sold Out?

I only see the Farfetch offer here.

Can I get a credit card/like Amex without a payslip?

    • +3

And you intend on paying it back how if you don’t have proof of income?

      • -1

Yes like how I pay off my 28D CC, with Savings still.

        • +1

Yeah, that's not how it works. Do let us know if you manage to get an Amex with only savings and no income coming in or payslips.

        • +2

I believe all of the Amex cards have requirements for proof of income with specific income level requirements that differ depending on the card (at least every one I have ever seen), so chance of getting without a payslip or other proof of income is basically near zero.

          • @gromit: My first Amex (really a DJs storecard, however issued by Amex) I had to provide payslips. All subsequent Amex cards I opened after that, I didn't need to provide them

            • @kerfuffle: So you had no current relationship with Amex and applied for a card and had to provide no income or employment details???? really?

              • @gromit: Reread what I wrote.

                • +1

@kerfuffle: ahhh so you still had the DJ's card. information is shared to any subsequent cards as long as you have a current relationship with them. If you terminate all cards and then reapply I would be shocked if they did not ask for proof of income.

          • -1

@gromit: Yep, I scrolled don on Eligibility and even the No Fee card requires 40K annual income.
            Cheers.

I wonder how new people Out of a job now can get a CC?

            • +1

@capslock janitor: i) they shouldn't be getting credit cards at this time if they're currently unable to pay it back
              ii) use recent past payslips
