Thought this game was very good up until the ______ part around 3/4 in. Then it was like I snapped back into reality from my Red-Dead-Trance, and it became painfully apparent how boring and tedious it was.

It is technically brilliant, absolutely awesome storytelling, but the fun? I think it gets lost, i mean variable weather dependant sized horse balls, just because you can doesn’t mean you should…to paraphrase someone…

      • Yeah I find stuff like that awesome. But still didn't change the fact that too much of the game was "Ride here, now ride here and talk….now ride here and have a shootout….now back to more riding".

It's of western so of course there is a lot of horse riding.
Do you also complain about too much driving in Grand Theft Auto?

          • @BargainEnjoyer2022: That still doesn't make for a fun game, though. Especially with how finnicky horses were over rocky terrain, and random tree stumps everywhere.

        • Tell me which game is different?

Every game has the same repetition masked by level design.

Some devs just know how to make the repetition not feel repetitive.

        • It sounds like you just don't like riding around, talking to people and having shootouts.

  • Been playing RDR since beta days.Sold PS4 and Still playing RDR online on PC.( Remember you need PS4 plus to play online, free on a PC though)I admit it can be tedious and various connection issues and bugs but it is a masterpiece of a game. Would highly recommend it to anyone who is into gaming.

  • Is it worth buying this for the extra content if I already have the standard game?

    • I owned the std edition on the PS4, sold the console and game. Playing the ultimate edition on PC now. It can make your life easy when stating out online as you rank up quicker until rank 25 and can get some free goodies. It definitely helps but I wouldn't buy ultimate edition of I already have a std edition.

      • Thanks for the reply. So everything in the Ultimate edition is either cosmetic or I can earn through the standard game?

I mostly play online these days. Only played story on the std edition. So I speak from online point of view. There are some outfits and chestnut coat of thoroughbred horse etc that are exclusive to U.edition. Its definitely recommended if you are getting this game for the first time (considering there can be very good deals from time to time) The rankup bonuses, the weapons etc can be earned through the std game. If you have already started your online game play on the std edition IMO not worth upgrading to Ult edition.
