Sony Cybershot DSC-W570 16.1 Mega Pixels Camera from DSE Free delivery. I got one of these cameras, it is quite a good camera with 16.1 Mega Pixels and the best thing about it it does sweep panorama for taking wide landscape pictures and join them together as one picture. Something that you could not do with normal camera shots. They are normally $249 retail, I havent seen it down this low before.

  • pretty good price for local stock e.g warranty esp after you've used the sweep panoramic feature. It might be a gimmick for some but its a lot of fun and should be on every camera!

16.1 mp is a bit much but having used one and printed out a photo, it wasn't such a big deal but I think sony could have kept it below 16 mp on a sensor that size.

    cheaper on ebay

    • Everything would be cheaper on ebay but remember alot of things on ebay are imported overseas stocks and no warranty. This is Australia stock from a reputable retailer.

      • yes i know but seller states it is "Genuine Australian stock with local support & 1 year warranty"

"We offer product exchange within 7 days of receipt, but no refund."

Those terms and conditions give me great confidence in the seller.

        • Yeah, be careful of Ebay - can be very hard to track down a seller. DSE can't hide. Also, note that you may have to pay postage costs for returns, not sure about this particular seller but often if it arrives defective, Ebay sellers get you to send it back at your own cost.

Got this last week at Costco for $139, including case, extra lithium battery and mini tripod. Sure you need to factor in membership but I have paid off the membership just off some of the grocery stuff I have bought from there.

    • Agreed :)

Even with the Costco membership fee factored in to the price, Costco offered a better deal because for $1 more (if you include the membership fee in the total price) the Costco deal included a genuine case, mini tripod and an EXTRA genuine battery (ie: 2x batteries)

Either way you look at it you got quite a bit more for 1$ extra OR you actually got quite a bit more for $59 dollars LESS if you have already recouped the membership fee elsewhere :)

      • Also membership is fully refundable so if you're a real tight arse. Get membership, buy camera, refund membership. Although I think I will hold on to mine.

Also the COOL thing about Costco is they actually give you rain checks on sold out specials, how awesome is that. Not many other place do this.

Another point is Costco normal price for the camera with the extras is $179, so still better than DSE special price.

        • any way to find out current Costco prices online? Do they have catalogues in store I have a friend who is going but getting them to make a list of all camera prices would be too much.

  • What's the best Digital camera for around this price? This one? Maybe the WX7?

    • One thing I do when looking for a new cam, review are all well and good but, proof of said pudding ….
So I head over flickr http://www.flickr.com and do a search on the model number, it will match photos taken with that camera (the camera model is embedded in the image - DXF)
Only thing is to remember some cameras especially panasonics have different model numbers overseas.

    • The WX7 is on my list and seems to be a very good camera but I'm leaning towards this canon.

      • The WX7 according to cnet has better reviews, why are you leaning towards the canon 220?
