This is sent to me as "OzBargain Exclusive" coupon code for Lenovo ThinkPads from their website. Use coupon code OBLV50 to get discount of 20%-40% depending on the amount you are spending.

  • 20% off ThinkPad T, X and W series when your configuration is $1200 or more
  • 30% off ThinkPad T, X and W series when your configuration is $2200 or more
  • 40% off ThinkPad T, X and W series when your configuration is $3200 or more

Some terms and conditions:

  • Offer ends Sunday Sep 25
  • Valid for the first 50 orders only
  • Excludes ThinkPad X121e laptops

ThinkPad has reduced their pricing quite considerably over the last month so it's closing the gap between the AU and US store — still much cheaper there though. At the same time online store is also competing with retail store, where you have big cashback schemes for T series (like the T420 and L420 from Centrecom deals). So I guess while an "exclusive offer" like this is good, it is not great.

Still good for X220 though, if anyone is looking for a solid 1.5kg 12.5" ultraportable. If you can claim back GST (i.e. buying it for work with an ABN registered for GST, or going overseas), it's quite comparable to US price once you hit the 20% off threshold.

love how you're shunning your own deal scotty

lemme guess your obligated to post it as part of "goodwill" relations with lenovo? haha

    • No, he is just stating the harsh reality that electronic goods (both physical and digital goods) are overpriced in Australia compared to overseas… especially when you take into account the AUD conversion.

      • That's ThinkPad T/X/W series before discount when you compare against Lenovo US online shop. After the discount and remove the GST it's actually not too bad.

However it would be hard to beat the Lenovo MoneyTree deals that's only offered to the retailers.

    • Well. What can I say?! They are sending those coupons to me especially with "OzBargain Exclusive" in the tagline.

For good business laptops, go and hunt down one of those ThinkPad T420 with cashback and they are fantastic deals. Feel free to use the "OzBargain Exclusive" offer though, if you are lazy with going to the shop and mailing in the cashback forms :P

    • Furythree,

The deal is not a good one… Btw are you also part of ozhonda forum?

  • This is just normal price in Australia. They have sales like this all over the year.

  • Oh christ this site is going to send me broke. This is actually looking really good this time around.

    If anyone here can answer…

What's the diff between buying the x220 from the i5 starting point and picking the i7 and the i7 starting point? Seems I'm getting the same specs but a hell of a lot cheaper on the i5.

With the media bay, does one need a docking station?

The i7 x220 comes with usb3 at all times, right?

  • even with discount, still double the centrecom deal (with cashback) for the T420 :P

    • You can still get the cashback rite?

      • I believe the cashback is only available when bought from the retailers, check the above posts about the lenevo money tree

        • Centrecom is a retailer…. Already got the cashback approved

        • never said it wasnt

These coupons are just getting annoying now, there's a new one eery fortnight, just permanently reduce the prices already

    • Yep. Sick of the lenovo coupons. They are borderline spam (they are here every week or two, usually offering 24-72 hours or so of discounts).

  • High minimum prices. Too steep for me.

  • Well there is still this: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/52728 for those who are interested in the T420.

    bring back the bulk5 code!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • +2

I bought a bulk5. If they did another bulk5, I would buy for my daughter. Now sat here with money to spend waiting for a comparable deal. There has been so much comment, Lenovo should do a 2-day bulk5 special to capture the demand before it goes to a competitor.

  • This is incredibly good for a high spec W520.
I just spec'd one up and would save 1,283.40 with this code.

I bought one two weeks ago on their 4 day sale and saved 780 from RRP.

Note they're also doing half-price memory upgrades at the moment too.

  • Think u got lucky on the bulk5, it's like demanding more $99 touchpads.

  • Too bad there is no coupon for X121E laptop. Hopefully Lenovo can bring back BULK5 code since I am aiming for X121E. Does anybody know 11 - 12 inch laptop in 400 dollar range price? I am looking for notebook with minimum 2 GB RAM.
