Both taking advantage and making millions
Sadly with all this panic buying the ACCC gave the Woolworths, Coles, Metcash and Aldi power to collaborate, to ensure the reliable and fair access to groceries for as long as the coronavirus pandemic lasts ie not much half price sales
who's metcash
@capslock janitor: Metcash own IGA and other stores
I spent more last week than I ever have, in 30 odd years of shopping. And wasn't even trying. No hoarding, one/two of each item, no high-value items ($15 shampoo, gift cards etc) and trolley only 2/3 full.
Yea woolies have next to nothing on special.
Yep second time I've popped in for this weeks (non)catalogue. So disappointing, as lower income earner I depend and enjoy the variety of the weekly specials.
This might be the only 1/2 price special across both supermarkets.
ALDI time?
they have gone from having hundreds of specials in store to almost nothing. Rediculous, all these would been planned long time out
yeah and their reasons for it (no stock, disappointment) are bogus!
Yea.they can still run instore promos. If they are out in store then so be it.
Poor by Woolworths here.
Most branded products are sold on promotion regularly and are priced as such. The cost to feed family has increased greatly shipping this week
Awesome. I can sit in isolation on my own and become more fat and depressed.
….buy the ltd flavours….only 150 gms….so theres some gains right there
Just need that mountain dew special
for this who haven't seen it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grLfjr4-BjQ
I have stopped giving my business to Colesworth after taking their catalogues out since last few weeks.. Started going to Aldi instead
Same here. All money making strategy from Colesworth.
Same - instead of playing the "catalogue game" (buying only items that are "half price" or on significant special at Colesworths) I'm now just going to Aldi where prices are low (equivalent products for the same price as the goods that are "half price" on special at Colesworths) all the time.
The lack of regular specials is really just taking advantage of the current COVID situation.
i just wish they had a proper product website, so i can compare ahead
IGA stores are still doing catalogues and specials. Usually independently operated stores too, so you are only giving a portion of your money to a big greedy corporate company rather than all of it.
The lack of 50% specials might be to discourage people to assault shelves even more and get more in contact with each other
yeah…nah. Profit.
Don't buy the cheeseburger flavour. It's awful.
Have Coles and woolies also pulled their digital catalogs? I used to one promoted in Stocard for my weekly shop but it’s gone.
Hardly anything on special this week at coles and woolies
