Unless you're already on Ultimate, wouldn't cashing in Gold for 3 months which is like 16k or so last I checked (could be completely wrong on the figure though) be better, and then upgrading it to Ultimate after the mark?
Well I suppose if you don't wanna spend anything at all, but to get to 30k you'd either have to have spent quite a bit, or been doing those Bing searches every day for years now.

@PreSsieGuY: Just for the 120 points on mobile. But if you visit the rewards site daily there is about 100 points up for grabs.

Same here…I have had ultimate maxed to 3 years since it came out. I have over 100k points from doing daily, plus console rewards. That's probably about a year or so of douing it.
Just picked up 2 3months and 2 one months. Total was about 66k points. Very happy with that!
Xbox game pass quests gives a fair amount total.
You also get points from Game Pass quests, mainly for starting a game or unlocking a few achievements.
Exactly, if you are not on Ultimate, go for the Gold ones.
Then, if you are not on GamePass for PC, join it for $1.
Lastly, join GamePass Ultimate for $1.
This way, you get 5 months for $2. However, if you don't want to spend $2 and have loads of points… I guess getting Ultimate with points is worthwhile.

Still got "There's a problem with your account" when I try to redeem. Got accused of cheating the system ages ago… kept all my points, and no option to challenge. But once you get banned by Microsoft, you stay banned!
There is a way to challenge it if you contact them. I was running two accounts and they allowed me to lift the restriction on one of them. YMMV though, but they also allow you to transfer points now too if you're lucky you might be able to.
Thanks. I did try to appeal when it first happened, but they just came back with some generic fluff which didn't really apply. I'll try the points transfer thing and see if it lets me.
Possibly try again, I've heard some success stories of people being unbanned after awhile, but different for everyone! Good luck with the points transfer though.
Seems broken. I have zero points. Although I've played many games on Xbox Game Pass for PC and used Bing while signed in.

Unless I am blind, they removed the option to buy Xbox Live Gold with your points a while ago? At least it hasn't come up when I've looked. Means Can't fill up on that first before converting to GamePass Ultimate.
EDIT: aaand of course now I check its back again! Because of course it is! :D 15000 points for 3 months is still pretty up there. There is no 6 or 12 month option, and last 12 months I got was 24000.
This just may be the first time I have ever had to pay full price for Gold, and I've been getting it for over ten years. They really are doing all they can to push people onto GamePass. Not necessarily a bad thing mind, as for a hell of a lot of people Gamepass is an amazing subscription value. Just.. not for me. I still have backlog from the two "keeper" xbox360 games a month I get from Live Gold, so I don't need anything else.

I know it says 1 per customer but I successfully got it twice. The first time I got a free month for turning in auto renew as well.
