Are you a very serious gamer? If not, how about a Wireless Gaming Mouse G700? 20 bucks more, and you use your mouse "Wirelessly"? The battery doesn't hold charge as long as M950 (not surprised), but it's very very comfortable to hold and perfect for casual gaming…

If you are even half serious about games, you will(should) never use a wireless.

      • G700 can be wired if you wanted it to. Just plug the cable in, and the data goes via the cable rather than the wireless receiver.

Beside, if the marketing is to be believed, these wireless gaming mouse have pretty good data rates as well.

…if the marketing is to be believed…

          Famous last words! ;)

I got the G700 and I find it is too heavy for FPS. I always use it wired and with the batteries removed. For FSP, I switch back to my old G5.

I hear this all the time but I have never had experience this apparent lag issue with wireless mouses and I've played a ton of PC games.

        • +1

There is always going to be added delays in transmitting wirelessly as there are processing and error correction overheads that consume time in the transmitter and receiver whereas with a wired mouse you have near instantaneous propagation of the signal along the cable…

But for me I dont find the cable in any way restrictive so not having to worry about batteries is the big plus for me…plus they are cheaper…

      • Damn right! Get a Razer Bungee cable management system if the cord bothers you.

those cord does bother me very much on my G9X but I don't spend $20 on cable stand!

        • What's that blue cylindrical shaped thing on the book in front of your sexy keyboard nick? Some kind of ancient technology?

        • @domingo. LOL.
Thats my old Dell monitor I found in my garage =D
          17" Square LCD monitor.

        • I was referring to the pen, but still good :P

        • Ohh pen! lol
didnt read properly. I skipped the "on the book"

    • I'm a casual gamer and don't want to spend much over 50 for a mouse. Wireless mice don't appeal to me as I don't like the idea of having to constantly think about how much battery they have etc.

      • I have a Logitech mk710 combo and the battery life is probably about 2/3 years for full charge batteries, really good combo and I even game with them.

I have one of these and got one after my Logitech G5 broke. The biggest thing is the mousewheel and definetly worth getting.

Another handy feature is that its got onboard flash memory which you can map a button and never have to bother with the drivers afterwards.

Forget that its a gaming mouse, this is great for anyone spending any length of time at a computer.

    • Yeah exactly, its a comfortable and precise mouse and great for normal duties. Great scroll wheel, the back and forward buttons are well placed for use web browsing and the ability to speed up and slow the tracking speed on the fly is handy doing fine work in Photoshop I find and as you mentioned the scroll wheel is awesome for websurfing and reading documents…

I have 4 of these. Bought one about a year ago, and have since upgraded all my mice to these (2 desktop 2 laptop_.
    Best mice ever IMHO.

  • Ive ordered from logitechshop many times, but first time ive had a merchant problem with paypal, i think paypal wants it to ship to paypal address, and logitech shop is getting me to enter my own address, which is a first i think.

anyone else with this problem? have i clearly clicked something wrong?

  • Would this mouse work via a KVM switch?

    Edit

According to a customer review on the M500, it doesn't, so the G500 probably won't work via kvm either.
