If you're not sure, you shouldn't be posting it.

It's not a great deal, given these were $299 just before Christmas (a world ago now, but tech rarely increases in value over time, even taking into account the tanking AUD).

I bought one at $299 and while it's a great watch, I would certainly not buy one 4 months later for $60 more.

      • +1

I would if it was local stock, still a fair price. I mean if you missed out on that deal, does that mean you will never buy one again?

I'm looking to buy one. Cheapest I can find.

Find me a cheaper price from a reliable company and then your point is valid?

      • +9

No, my point is valid anyway. You can buy it for whatever price you want. But it isn't a "bargain" (and therefore shouldn't qualify for posting on this site) because we know what they have previously been sold for, and therefore what they're really worth.

This is a stupid comment. We post sales here all the time, even if the product has at one point been cheaper. The point is, right now, can you you get this cheaper? If not then your neg is unwarranted for the reason you gave. For example, LG OLED C9 65" has been as low as $2600 once, does that mean if it drops down to $2700 that no one should put it on OZB? Nearly every week we get posts for it at $3k

42mm for same price here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/510470
Currently on special at JB from $549 to $399: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-galaxy-watch-46mm…

I've seen a lot of people posting here for something they are looking to buy but not interested in doing any research themselves. They expect other people to waste their time in finding a cheap deal for them and they will come back later to reap benefit.
If I want to buy something and i think its on a "deal" then i would at least surely once check old posts on ozbargain and see if the "deal" is a real deal.

If you want to find the cheapest current price for an item, then use StaticIce

        Cheapest I can find.

You should have mentioned that in your post, rather than saying this:

Not sure if this is a good deal or not?

It gave everyone the impression that you didn't bother checking.

I think there has been the age old debate about what constitutes a bargain i.e. current cheapest price or matches/beats the previous cheapest price…

I think the consensus (at least based on feedback from mods in the past) is that Ozbargain leaves it up to the votes to determine whether the community believes it is a bargain.

I can't find it cheaper at the moment, upvoted

I've had my imported grey Galaxy Watch for over a almost 2 years now, You CAN get this to work with Samsung Pay in OZ if you "hack" it by changing it's CSC to Australian one.

You'll have to find the hack and instructions on XDA-Devs as I forgot how I did it but you just turn on wifi debug mode, telnet into the watch and run some commands which then resets it to AU mode from HK/Singapore. You only need to do this once as setting sticks with updates.

I think I used the Galaxy Sport instructions at the time and it worked.

Anyhoo, I have no idea if this is worth $359 as I paid $429 as a grey import from ebay 18months ago which wasn't a special or a sale, just normal grey price. I'd imagine Samsung would be releasing a new model any time as it's quite a old watch now but still beats any Android Wear watch due to battery life,Speed of watch and usefulness. Android Wear is dead, Fitbit is a joke and this is the only Watch OS other then AppleWatch that's any good anymore and works both with Android and iOS.

Edited: I think this is what I followed

I PP, don't be discouraged by posting. I'm still looking for one. Have you consider the Garmin ones? I've been watching and waiting for a bargain.

I'm new to the site so I apologise for not putting enough description into it.

In the future I'll definitely look at old posts to compare the previous prices that it has been before posting but I just couldn't find it cheaper.

It also gets confusing with Australian versions and non-Australian versions.

Also some of you must be really easily frustrated

    • Yea just list the deal, don't ask if it is a deal. Otherwise was nothing wrong with it. If you are asking a question stick it in the forums. Just put information about the watch in the description and you are good to go, rather than having the description of "is this a deal", as you are meant to be showing us the deal ;-)

      • Agree. Needs to have a bargain spirit behind it. Think most of the negative comments here are more around the attitude taken. But as above, don't get discouraged.

Appreciate the advice, I love finding bargains so I'll still try and post some In the future :)
