Looks like a neat little bottle of magic sauce

  • +2

Has anyone posted any evidence this stuff does anything additional compared to using premium fuel?

    • +3

No idea if it worked, I put a bottle in of the same chemical different brand, I thought fuel performance wasn’t as good in the first month but then got better in the following refuels

    • I bought a dual fuel car a few years back, the injectors where stuck and car didn't run properly on petrol even though I had run several tanks of 98 octane through it. I ended up buying a bottle of injector cleaner and it made the car run smoothly once it mixed into the petrol. I ended up running a couple of bottle of injector cleaner through the tank to be on the safe side.

    • Personal experience, I've poured a bottle into my car which has 130,00km on it. I grabbed 2 bottles of this about 3 months ago

I was pleasantly surprised that the fuel economy improved by a fair amount. From ~10L/100km to ~9.2L/100km. My driving habit remained unchanged after using it, basically just me driving back and fourth from work.

I thought it was a fantastic result and decided to pour the second bottle, but that didn't seem to make any difference.

I didn't notice any difference performance wise.

      • What fuel do you normally use?
        e10/91/95/98?

And do you stick with one brand of fuel? If so, which one?

Not challenging you, just.. trying to see if there's a difference! :)

        • My car is designed for e10/95. I've stopped pumping 95 into my car about 2 years ago.

Most of the time I use 7-11 e10. Lately 7-11 fuel prices hasn't been keeping up with the massive price drop in fuel prices so I've been grabbing the cheapest e10 I come across.

          • @Butt Scratcher: Thanks for your reply, really appreciate it!

From ~10L/100km to ~9.2L/100km. My driving habit remained unchanged after using it, basically just me driving back and fourth from work.

Is this a sustained improvement? I.e. even after the initial tank of fuel with the rislone mixture, do you still see consistent 9.2L/100km?
            :)

  • The reviews have made me buy some to at least give it a go

  • "Ends 28/02/2020"?

  • I know it says works in all engines, but I find lots of things that say that don’t work for my 2-cylinder engine. Does anyone know if they’ve taken into account small engines in that claim? The last time I took my car to Supercheap to get a battery they wouldn’t touch it, but all the staff came to look at the car with a 2-cyl engine. I’m not sure I’d trust their advice on this.

    • Fiat?

      • Yep, Panda TwinAir 900cc Turbo.

        • +12

I can feel the power even as you say the name.

        • Happy with it?

          • @0jay: lol… good one.

i wonder if it works in 2 stroke (not 2 cyl) engines too.

  • +12

    Great on salads

  • This stuff is chockas full of hydrocarbons. I suspect it acts like an octane booster and gives a short term lift in performance for one tank. But hey, it's very cheap and could help so who knows?

  • +2

My car (premium unleaded 98) was averaging doing 11.5L/100km, after using this, it is now averaging at around 10-10.5L/100km.
However, on my wife's car (diesel) that was doing around 5.8L/100km has not seen a big difference, it is now doing approx. 5.5L/100km on average.

    • Just curious on what car it is, I got a euro 98 car and feel anxious to try this stuff out

      • @Yaozy
It is on a 2016 Subaru WRX Sti and on a 2016 BMW X1 diesel.

It even looks like snake oil

    This Tequila tastes funny.

Have used in HQ with 308 and Kia Sportage. Noticeable difference in the sportage after a tank, appears to have cleaned it out and partner who uses car for work said fuel economy did improve on next few tanks (don’t have figures to quote).

    Heard this stuff kills coronavirus.

    • +1

      And probably people too

  • Even though these sort of things are usually snake oil, I think it is a good deal here.

Upper cylinder head lubricant/injector cleaner have a fairly good reputation. At this price sounds like a deal.

I used it once, the bottle has a great design making it VERY easy to use without getting any on your hands. Probably worth doing once a year at THIS price,

  • how exactly do we use this? ok for any petrol engine?

where do we pour this lol? straight into the engine oil?

    looks like tabasco for engines…

    • No, it goes into the petrol/fuel tank. Pour the bottle in, then fill the tank to full.

I tend to do it close-ish to when I'm about to change my oil.

    • You add this into your fuel tank, ideally before an upcoming minor service/oil change
edit: placard beat me to it!

  • Thanks, grabbed 3!

Do you use full bottle, or only add 3/4 for a 50l tank?

  • Would this be safe to use in forklifts (petrol) to help clean out all the gunk?

    • let me know how that goes lol

  • +1

Bought 4 bottles! Hoping it can bring my 18L/100 down a touch

    • Damn, do you drive a hummer?

    • Either you have a cammed V8 or your O2 sensor is on the fritz

    • +1

      V8 petrol landcruiser?

      • Some good guesses by everyone, J-G got it! Love me a thirsty 100 series. I can say a bottle has brought my economy down to 17L/100, but it sure makes the exhaust smell bad

  • There is bugger all if any PEA in this. Nulon Pro-Strength Fuel System Extreme Clean does contain a fair bit of PEA. So maybe save the money to wait for Nulon to go onto special.

  • +1

I'm usually skeptical with these products, but oddly enough you do feel a difference once you pour this in. Placebo? Perhaps … but $6 is cheap to make your car feel faster.

  • +1

Snake oil. Doesn't do shit. Just thrash your car to the red line now and then to clean it out.

    • Disconnect the battery for 10mins first.

  • +7

Let me preface this comment by saying I'm going to buy some anyway… I struggle to decline any automotive related deal that's 66% off. Just ask my 65L of various top tier 5w-30 sitting in the shed.

I digress….I feel this has the same (placebo?) effect as when one gives their car a deep clean and detail, seems to drive better…and when you do an oil change after only 4000km of your last high grade synthetic oil change, and find it's definitely running smoother this time!

I can literally visualise the valves and injectors being cleaned of their deposits from the moment i put this in the tank (accompanied, of course by a full tank of 98RON aswell for that double placebo!)

Anyway, gotta stop typing… there's Rislone to be purchased!

    • 9 out of 10 Tigers in Fuel Tanks resent having to drink this stuff…

      (I feel old). lol

  • Its not just concentrated but "super" concentrated…lol

Guys its snake oil, if you want to clean your system just run a tankful or two of E10 (if your car can) as ethanol is a great cleanser, and it wont cost anything as its usually cheaper the RON91

    • +3

I find E10 reduces my car performance and mileage vs Unleaded 98. Slower acceleration and higher RPM to get to the same speed

      • how can it be higher RPM for the same speed? doesnt make sense.

        • Well, if you have to push the accelerator harder due to lower energy density fuel, then the auto will hold gears longer as you accelerate, thus higher RPM

          • @King Tightarse: but once cruising, RPM should be the same? gear ratios are fixed (okay, might be different on CVT). fair enough if that referred to different gears at the same speed.

            • @[Deactivated]: Yes, once you are in top gear RPM is the same. He is describing the effect when accelerating. Flip side is true too; put premium in and there is brisker performance with less pedal effort

    • -1

      Umm. I have a diesel.

  • Been using it far a few years. Certainly improved the economy of my 2.2 tonne diesel 4X4. 10.5 litres per 100k Sydney/Brisbane via New England hwy. 9.2 Brisbane/Sydney via M1.

  • Thanks OP. Worth a try at this price. I will report back if I notice any difference!

  • lol will this work on carbys? i have a d15b4 and it always stalls on the first start up (assuming i can get it started in the first place) lmao

  • My car dropped today from 8.2 to 7.7! No joke, I did some highway but got alot of traffic and had the air con on during trip back!

    • What fuel do you normally use?
      e10/91/95/98?

And do you stick with one brand of fuel? If so, which one?

Not challenging you, just.. trying to see if there's a difference! :)

      • The tank before this one, I switched to U98. I filled up a fresh tank, then used bottle and the drop was was sudden as I recall! I always use BP!

        • Can you post here once you do a refill after the tank that's full + rislone should be fully flushed out of the system?

Wondering whether this is a sustained economy boost or just a once off!

          • +1

@cwongtech: Might be a while, don't drive much ATM lol

Happy to post back later on. I'm probably better off resetting it as I still got 550kms in the tank and then resetting the next tank!
