As schools around the world close their buildings and families find themselves at home, we want to ensure that learning together continues. So we’re partnering with Khan Academy and other learning creators to bring parents & families resources and activities to make the coming days as educational and fun as possible. Of course, these resources won’t replace any homework assigned by teachers — but they can complement that work.

    I think it is 2020.

And how was watching the Australian Grand Prix? Get your fill?

  • Fastest sport? Montoya in '05 - 231 mph; Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei hit a 253 mph smash at the Hong Kong badminton open in 2015.

    • Cute. Top Fuel Dragsters say hi.

Fastest around a given track it is F1 though.

My point was that F1 is not the fastest sport on Earth. Thanks for helping me prove that.

Lol, it doesn't pay to anger the rev heads.

    • The cars are limited by the track and gear ratio. If they had open tracks they would keep going faster and faster. Theoretical speeds in the wind tunnel can go over 500km/h. They're designed for corners as the aerodynamics are the most important part. Even Indycars have gone over 400km/h at the brickyard.

      • The cars are limited by the track and gear ratio.

Yep, that's the sport as it has come down to us through history. I'm no badminton expert, but playing in a wind tunnel might improve Wei's smash.

        • I don't think you understand mate. A serve can't get any faster. The wind tunnel is a direct simulation of a track or anything they want to run on. Costs hundreds of millions of dollars to replicate the real world. A wind tunnel doesn't involve any wind! Lol

          • @Whisper Quiet:

A wind tunnel doesn't involve any wind!

Wind tunnels are large tubes with air blowing through them. The tunnels are used to replicate the actions of an object flying through the air or moving along the ground. Researchers use wind tunnels to learn more about how an aircraft will fly. NASA uses wind tunnels to test scale models of aircraft and spacecraft.

Maybe you don't mean wind tunnel? Maybe you mean windless tunnel?

  • What's so special about the 2016 Brazilian F1 GP? Was it a particularly important and exciting race?

    • +1

According to F1, it was one of the classic races.

      • I had a quick browse. It was one of the wettest race with 2 red flags (race suspended), 3 in-race crashes and 5 safety cars. Romain Grosjean crashed his car on the way to line up at the start (vision not broadcast). It was not pretty.

    • +1

Well that would be a spoiler :)

      • +2

I thought all the cars had one? Well they call it a rear wing but same difference.

    • The ending was great.

  • +1

I thought the title was you could learn “F1 at home”

  • +3

Wow F1 posted just the one race.. so generous.. and it's a deal post on ozb… good on them.

No serious F1 fan wants to watch F1 in at least the past 5 years.

Is there anywhere to get the real full classic races? Senna era, etc. Would even pay decent $ for quality footage.

    • +1

No legal way I'm aware of.

'good' footage doesn't exist. Very limited.
