  • No way I am paying that much money for a router that has only 2 antennas.

    Hmmm, 150MBps 4G speed…

  • Can i use this to replace my ex-vividwireless optus wireless home broadband?

    • If your running off a sim card, like the boost 240gb deal sure can.

I've tested working with both Optus and Telstra Sims, havnt tried vodaphone

  • Be easier to plug this into a LAN port of your router and then set it to be WAN backup …

    • Should be able to grab a LB2120-100AUS for less money if you want to do that.

      • That doesn't directly take a sim card though?

        • Sure it does. Got a SIM tray on the bottom.

          • @rhangman: Well, their marking team is absolute shit then.

Does not show this anywhere on their diagrams or technical details on netgear website.

since most of the 4g modems ive also seen you need to plug in a USB 4g dongle for the backup,,, i assumed this was similar.

Too bad its only cat 4 https://www.4gltemall.com/blog/tp-link-4g-router-archer-mr40…

If you're in the city you'd want something at least cat 6 such as : https://www.amazon.com.au/KuWFi-Unlocked-300Mbps-Wireless-Vo…

Does anywhere get over 150mbps on 4g?

I'm on Telstra and getting 40mbps.

      • Well that's CAT4 theoretical speed which you won't get. I had the Nighthawk M2 CAT16 and that was rated at 1Gbps I think and I never got more than about 90mbps from my local towers running it as a fixed MBB device.

        • What matters is if you can hook up external antenna to your Nighthawk, it will vastly improve your download speed.

@cloudie9: From personal experience I find that my download speed is slower on my cat 4 devices such as a portable modems then my iphone device.
I wonder if the higher theoretical speed increases the normal download speed you get, even if you don’t reach the limit.

            • @MagicTsukai: hmm well this was fast enough to run 10 desktop computers (and the phones as they don't work without internet) in the office to keep our business going.

Excellent investment for us as the supplied NBN modem failed and it took NBN 3 days to get out and replace it.

  • This one does NOT have any USB port to share the external hard drive through WiFi. :(

  • Recently ordere Archer AX1500 from Amazon for about $171… How does this compare?
