Haven't got one of those for the good part of a year now!

  • +1

wait so if I don't sell within this weekend, I pay more?

    • +2

Must list item over the weekend

    • If it doesn't sell this weekend
      And it auto relists
You might pay more if it sells later

  • +1

I activated mine and it says it starts on the 16th and ends on the 17th. Doesn’t show in my active promotions, I assume it will starting at midnight? Anyone else experience this?

    • +2

"This offer is effective as of 16/03/2020 12:00:00 AM" ? How is this weekend? I was on a chat with Ebay Customer service and they are aware of this issue. Not sure if they going to fix the issue or they will keep the promotion for the 16th and 17th.

"Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only" is the message I received when I clicked on the link.

    • +2

Looks like it is a targeted offer then

  • +1

"Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only" message. In red text too!!

I have an account with 100% rating, 1,438 positive transactions and never get any special offers. Ebay helps me make the decision to choose Amazon over ebay any day where possible to give my money to.

    • I assume you don't have a store as that is the only way you have a chance to get it ?

      • You are right I don't have a store, perhaps that's it. Cheers.

I think because you have sold a lot, you are entrenched in their system so they don’t need to motivate you to sell anymore. People with low sales count on the other hand, need some carrots to entice them. It’s the same pattern with telcos and utilities that have enticing offers for new customers but not existing ones…

    • Well considering it is Sunday already - and we didn't get this offer til this morning - effectively Saturday is gone.

So maybe it is best if they keep it 16th and 17th

      • Yes, this is what I thought.

        • Perhaps the intention is to reinstate this offer for every weekend starting from this weekend.

It used to be a long running offer every weekend.

Nope nothing as usual, been over a year now

    • Try clicking the link above and see if it works for you

  • This is weird. I click the link, it said accepted, now says You've already accepted the offer "Weekends only: Pay $1.10 When you Sell!". But when I go to list an item, nothing changes and still says I will incur a FVF. Also, when in the Selling/Sold tab, at the bottom under "Promotional Offers", it does not have the deal, only the free 40 a month.

Man, eBay is a busted piece of junk.

    • When you accepted the offer, did it say:

      Start date *
      16/03/2020 12:00:00 AM

      End date
      17/03/2020 11:59:59 PM

      • It didn't have it the first time, now it does say it. I'll just see what happens at midnight, I do have a lot of stuff to sell.

        Cheers OP.

      • I accepted it and it worked but says starts tomorrow which is bizarre

    • Please read above. The start date for listings is on the 16th which is not the weekend. There is an issue at the moment.

  • Worked, thanks!

  • Weird, I accepted it but I get nothing under 'promo'. Perhaps it appears on the 16th….who knows

    • Yes, I'm pretty sure that's what used to happen.

  • Yes, finally.

  • company as big as ebay, dont do quality check properly. so unbelievable. weekend in USA maybe?

    • +1

      Yes it’s unbelievable.

Just a reminder - after you sell your items, probably worth checking your account to make sure you are actually charged $1.10 and not the full FVF.

Wouldn’t surprise me if there is a “glitch” there too

  • Got the offer for my backup account and accepted it from the email, but it doesn't show up under my Promotional Offers on the actual site. Hopefully it'll go live tomorrow, because I've got stuff to list.

  • Thanks OP.
Would not have known without your post.

  • So now is the 16th….
Still not showing up under promotional offer section… Come on!

    • Same here!

Contacted support and they gave me 10 listings with no final value fees. Sounds like they’re doing it for everyone who makes contact.

    • That’s al very well …. but some people have many more listings than 10 that they want to list.

Did they say if this thing is gonna go live at all?

Or is it just a sham … and all the most we’ll get is 10 free listings?

      • She said the team were working on fixing it, and she couldn’t confirm whether it would be active next weekend or not.

I agree that the $1.10 listings would be much more preferable but this is all I was offered. Might contact again since the user below clearly got a better outcome than I did.

I contacted ebay via their online chat. I was told they are aware of the issue and how it is not showing up in the promotional offers section, but to go ahead and list items during the promotional period (16th-17th), and as per the T&Cs and they will manually credit the fees and only charge the $1.10 per item sold.
I was told to reference the chat transcript number when I contact them to get the fees credited. A bit of a pain, but the number of listings is not restricted.

    • +1

Maybe this is right - it may be live but for whatever reason just not showing in promotional offers.

I just tried to list 3 items just now and the used counter for “Free Fixed Price & Auction Listings” didn’t change…

  • +2

Sold an item today - can confirm that I was only charged $1.10

    • +1

Same here, if I could have confirmed myself sooner I would have listed more stuff, fingers crossed this is ongoing.

  • Got this email:

    Hi XXXXX,

We're writing to you to give you some important information about the Mega-Weekend promotion you entered this weekend.

Despite displaying wrong dates on the Promotional Offer Summary of the promo, due to a system issue on our end:
