@lostn: Don't have to look far to see people who've list thousands…
@scuderiarmani: in shares or flights?
@lostn: Flights, the bigger financial picture is a completely different story.
I'm just saying why willingly risk when many lost money already. I've heard some awful stories already.
@scuderiarmani: No one has lost money canceling a late 2020 holiday yet.
@lostn: Late being the key word. I'd rather spend thousands in the local economy.
I've heard of my fellow Port fans losing thousands on trips to China.
The Olympics would be in serious jeopardy, think of all that loss coming.
Agreed. I'm negging this because a flight for this price at this particular point in time is not a good deal and not just because it is contrary to government health warnings.
I stand by my neg. Ask anyone on the planet and they will tell you this is a bad deal.
We booked flights last year for 14 May using points. Unfortunately didn't get insurance until after Coronavirus was notified. Looking very likely that we will be forced to cancel and lose everything, hopefully Qantas make a change to our booking and trigger a refund option instead.
We will only be going if
a) Japan manged to contain in record time, and
b) the exchange rate goes back to above 70JPY.
Doubt either will happen.
It's good that you booked with points. You can cancel and get most of your points back. Better than a cash booking.
It was a sale fare and points + pay. The cancellation fee of the fare conditions means we pretty much get nothing back.
Points + pay is usually not great value. Classic rewards is usually better value. Although availability is often worse. And you really should take out travel insurance as soon as you've booked the airfare. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer.
there's a very good chance QF changes their flights and offers a refund.
How much money do you intend to spend over there?
We were going for 3 weeks so I think $4000 spending money for 4 people. That was based off our last trip which equated 18000 jpy a day
Rather than post deals to international flights we should setup a GoFundMe for all the affiliate marketers that are doing it tough.
So cheap trip to Japan, nice stay over in Darwin for 2 weeks on the way home during the monsoon season - I'd rather eat broken glass!
By the time you're back from this trip, you won't get the luxury of a Darwin hotel…..
Christmas Island prison camp?
Everyone should book a ticket to stimulate the economy. Qantas is suffering badly. I got a call today and the staff were selling wine over the phone. They are desperate for work.
If you really wanna stimulate economy, then travel locally..qantas got big cash reserve, they not going to go bust anytime soon despite the crisis.
You mean they will answer the phone without the traditional 1 hour wait now?
What does the Ex mean in Ex Sydney?
It means there was a break-up. Very sad.
Exclude Tax
It was meant to be X Sydney as the epi-centre of Australia's Wuhan virus. But Vin Diesel complained.

yes
Does this come with free toilet paper ?
You know it’s like Australia’s unofficial domestic currency……..
It's the worlds unofficial currency. It's not just prone to Australia. Take a look at the US, UK and Japan right now on YouTube.
We'll probably have our borders shut by then. It is quite possible.
This is soooo tempting. I wonder when the sale ends…
Surely Corona has died down a bit by then…
@scuderiarmani: for the same reason people buy shares. They have speculations they are confident about and believe the reward is worth the risk.
Flight money is less risky than tours and accommodations.
