  • All I want is a door that I can open by putting my and family’s iphones next to it like Apple Pay.

    Is this a thing? Thankyou!

    • Sounds like you want to use nfc to unlock your door? A lot of smart locks come with nfc tags that you could possible hide in your mobile phone case. Otherwise there's a lot you can manage with automation as well. A quick google search brings up a forum with information on using apps such as IFTTT to do this.

Looks like you're gonna have to wait for August.

      Yep, tons.
Find on that works with nfc.
Store the tag on your phone.

I went a more oldschool approach and lock my doors with a car central lock kit.

Have a keychain remote and it goes "woop woop" when i lock it.

      • Not tons, most locks with RFID style cards don't use NFC-compatible technology.

        • You need to spend more time on aliexpress if you think there's not tons that are NFC enabled.

This would be worth more than most of the contents in my house.

I have the Samsung Smart Lock (https://www.bunnings.com.au/samsung-smart-bluetooth-rim-lock…)
Smart Tags are $10.00 from Bunnings

Or you can buy 2 stick-on NFC tags from eBay for $15.00 delivered

    • I've been looking at that lock for a little while now, how do you find it?

  • I bought this recently on Amazon (US) for about $325 but got about $30 off through one of the cash back sites. However this being Australian stock at a reasonable price, I think this is a pretty good deal.

  • These things are a pain to install if you're diying
