  • Can you port in to the JB Hi-Fi or The Good Guys Telstra Deal from These guys ?

  • +1

No matter what this deserves a positive. You can't get 100gb for this price.

    • Optus $30 for 100GB lol (student edge required)
      Still a good deal regardless!

      • Link please?

          • -1

            @anonymousaccount: "First 300 students only"

CIRCLES.LIFE is breaking into AU telco market, &
they're doing what you'd expect: Being Disruptive
            (ie, Competitive)

Now's the time to buy in,
if you want to spent $456
            per year for 100 GB/month

            • -1

              @IVI: I don't suppose this CIRCLES.LIFE deal
would take a BOOST number, as Telstra?

(even though Telstra's rules apply, on
the way in to BOOST, eg:

              • "Premium" numbers NOT ALLOWED to port
to Telstra N/W, if they're to be used
                on [great-value] BOOST prepaid accounts

Telstra only permit such numbers one of
              Telstra's [poorer-value, IMO] post-paid
              offers)), ie, effectively:

              • forcing a "Volvo" to pay more to use
                Telstra's "toll-road", than a common
"Toyota" pays to use the same road

I've been on Circles for a few months now and have had no issues with them, their app is very well made, easy to use and see all your usages etc. Great referral programs too. Just signed a friend up for $18/mo for 12months (back to $28/mo after) no contract w/ 20GB data /mo , so good.

This deal includes 100GB and international al calling to a few countries for $8 less. Not a student but still managed to sign up!

    • Signed up. Thanks man. Haven't studied in forever.

      • You study the art of deals every day

  • Trying to sign up but I get to the confirmation page and suddenly it's listed as a 20gb plan, paying an extra $10 per month for an additional 20gb. The 100gb has disappeared.

Edit: just realised I'm porting from Optus. So yeah.

  • Does Circles allow data sharing/hot spotting?

    • +2

I used my sim on an Optus mobile wifi device … works fine

    • +1

Yep I can vouch, I use it on a optus WiFi dongle I purchased from big w. Bring it with me every where I go. Very useful

      • Thanks guys!

Unlike every other telco in Australia these guys decided that it would be a good idea to add the letters 'LW' to the start of your account number which makes porting out a real pain when other telcos are expecting the number to be a number only.

Multiple failed port-outs and support chats later something finally happens. They disconnect my number!
Absolutely useless. I completely lost access to my number and was unreachable for almost 2 days while they worked on restoring it. In the end I was only able to port-out after they added some manual authorisation on their system.

    • +1

I had the same issue. Sheer luck I worked out the LW caper before rollover. Still got billed after porting until speaking with the TIO. Crap experience all round.

      • Had the same issue when ported out, still sending me bills. Had to talk to support 3 times to fix. Never again.

    • No problem for me to port to an anthor Optus network, e.g. Catch Connect. Vodafone/Kogan has recently fixed LW problem when you fill your account numbers.

But I'll only use it again if free.

    • Hey, Telstra did WORSE:

      Grabbing our Jeenee (Optus) number
      - without our knowledge or consent
      - porting it to NoWhere, & leaving
us with No Service for 24 Days, of
course, No MessageBank or any other
      message-taking service over that
      period.

      Overseas friends & newer Colleagues
thought we were dead or out-of-bus.

Then, they REFUSE to pay any COM-
PENSATION for all the TROUBLE THEY
      CAUSED.

Complain to -both- TIO & ACMA

(TIO will do what it can, but
      ACMA needs LOTS OF Complaints
to begin to address this kind
      of issue, it seems)

  • Been with them since november, works wonderfully and I'm happy with $28 for 100gb.

  • anyone in Sydney can comment on the reception around CBD and inner suburbs?

  • Anyone pulled the trigger on this?

Avoid Circles Life! I am on the 100GB for $28 plan that was on promo last year. It's not worth it…switching away when a Telstra or Optus deal comes along.

Generally the network is just the standard Optus network without VoLTE, but if you have any issues with your service they will next to useless. The live chat agents always promise to get back to you via email by the end of the day, but until you chase them up you will never get a reply. They do not honour referral discount codes if their system did not apply it correctly (which happened in approximately half of my ~20 referrals), unless you push them on it. I needed to fight with them and ended up sending through the CIS and Order acknowledgement email, threatening to go to the TIO for them to apply it.

Definitely not worth worth the pain and hassle of dealing with such crap support staff (or Happiness consultants as they call them).

    /rant

    • Start with "…or I go straight to TIO"
ie, at the first sign of pain or hassle"

      I suspect they're understaffed, as you'd
      expect, during early deal offer-periods.

  • Does this offer indicate no more 100gb for $28 from Circles.Life?
$38 plus another $5 for 100gb and int'l mins seems not appealing :(

  • Look forward to 200gb mobile plan, otherwise Boost mobile plus NBN.

    AVOID CIRCLES

customer service is horrible. I’d been using FaceTime to call overseas. They lodged these calls as International despite being data only. Have been back and forth with them for close to a month now.

They originally agreed to waive the charges. Fast forward weeks later not only are charges still present they’ve now come back and said they’ll only waive half the charges.

As a business if they were never going to honor waiving the charges they should’ve stuck to their guns and refused not to. However, what has really pissed me off is the fact they’ve said they’ll remove the charges from my bill numerous times (I have the chat transcripts and have also messaged these to them outlining the fact) then to turn around and say only half. I’m standing pretty firm on this one.

Stick with catch kogan or amaysim for good deals. Circles are a pack of snakes.

    • +1

If your carrier was able to determine you were making an overseas call then you weren't using FaceTime. There's no mechanism for them to see anything about a FaceTime call, it's all encrypted between you, Apple and the other party.

  • Beware of Circle.Life! Took me more than 30 minutes on live chat to request CS to fix the stuff up on Termination Request. Below was what showed up when I requested to terminate my number when I've NO outstanding balance to pay as reflected on my Circles.Life App.

    Terminate Number
    Term and Conditions
Not eligible for termination due to Outstanding balance
The balance must be settled before you can terminate this number
You can pay your balance directly from Circles.Life app!

  • I cant port out from circles app. DOB doesnt work , customer/account number is alphanumeric at circles which cant be used for kogan or catch.

  • Any pointers on how can I port out of circles to kogan ?

cant enter LW******* customer account number on kogan activation page.

    • When I went from Circles to Optus they just said to leave out the letters. YMMV

  • Anyone port out of Circles and then back onto this plan? Is there a minimum time you have to wait after porting out to sign up?

  • I would avoid Circles Life despite whatever deal they can offer you. I have requested a termination and they have continued to send me a bill me despite going on chat to 100% confirm that they will be closing my account 2 months ago. It's been a hassle, and a waste of energy and time to deal with them about a simple request.
