A good place for a feed.

Liked the korean fried chicken, and pizzas (harder to get)

    • Haha, yeah. The pizzas go really fast. In saying that, those “pizzas” are actually just toasted pita bread with toppings. Still alright to eat though..

  • -1

I visit there a year ago the good was average. It maybe better to visit Box Hill.

    • +7

"maybe" is not the same as "may be"

      Hi CoreJava,
We have made changes to our restaurant based on the response from our post from last year + feedback left by our customers on Facebook and Google reviews on an ongoing basis. Many of the issues that have been pointed out have been rectified by our staff and management. We would suggest trying it out once again before deciding it is not for you.

this is one of the excellent ways to gain trust and good reputation,
        well done, good to see

  • +2

You get what you paid. been there once and it was below average.

  • +1

    Well below average.

    • +1

I agree, the food was crap.

  • +4

No idea why everyone is complaining. Yes the food is below average but it's perfect if you're starving or want a feed after a few drinks. I've been many times and will continue to go how can you complain for the price. Go to any nearby Korean restaurant like don't tell mama or any one in box hill and you'll pay more just for some fried chicken or bulgogi!

    • +4

When feedback and opinion is called complaining!!

I'm sure you wouldn't tell people off for offering positive reviews?

Accept that people have opinions and they have a right to share them. And those opinions might be valued by people that don't want to spend $14 on sub par food. The expectation is the quality of food is good and will be enjoyed. If it isn't people have a right to find out.

And people also have a right to make up their own minds. But you have no right to tell people they can't offer their opinions ffs!

      • +2

We think so too! Quite a few of our improvements over the course of the year have been largely because of the constructive feedback left by our customers. Your opinions and feedback is something we are extremely grateful for. If for any reasons, a customer was delivered food/service that fell short of their expectations, then we would like to know it and make sure it doesn't happen. However, out of respect for everyone…emphasis on the constructive.

        • +4

Great to hear you are considerate of feedback…and frankly I'm impressed that you value the ozbargain community and value their support.

I think everyone will always have a different opinion of something based on their expectation and the value of money (someone that doesn't have much disposable income might expect more than someone with more disposiable income that doesn't care too much about not getting value for money) So like any review or comment it needs to be taken with a grain of salt and weighed up against all the positive feedback and comments and then ones own decision…not to mention ratings and feedback on other sites.

I just dislike people suggesting others shouldn't be allowed to view their opinion. Granted yes constructive feedback is beneficial…but not a requirement. Not everyone 'must' expand on a simple response. It would help…but so long as it isn't vulgar or rude, someone saying 'well below average' isn't any worse than someone saying 'well above average'.

Kudos to you for respecting the rights of people to offer an opinion.

No doubt you get a laugh from people complaining that a Korean AYCE doesn't offer enough Australian food and rate it badly based on that lol

Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary. And wishing you well on the birthday celebrations and to a long and prosperous future and business! I might get the chance one to to try for myself, alas the drive form the other side of town makes it too much effort.

          Happy bday!

@Lv80: We got through JV, we can get through anything!

      • Idiotic thinking…and then you actually say it lol

"tourists" are everywhere. If you are worried about catching something from a tourist, best not leave your house. They are everywhere man…everywhere!! lol

I pity the fear you live in.

      • Hi CoreJava,
Just FYI, if you have a look at our Google reviews, a significant proportion of those come to our restaurant are Melbournians, more so from the Whitehorse/Nunawading region (this can be easily checked if you see their Local Guide badge that shows up beside their name). As a restaurant, we absolutely welcome anyone to come and dine with us regardless of where they come from. Not quite sure where you get the impression that we serve a lot of tourists in Nunawading.

They are offering a $14.95 Buffet Dinner or Lunch. For any buffet that's pretty good value. Surely you can't be expecting premium quality for that price. You pay that much for a large Mcdonalds meal these days and that's fast food. To the owners of Miss Korea Kitchen, all the best with the business.

    • +3

Yeah agreed! I'll be visiting and trying it out :)

    • +7

Yeah, some ppl can be ridiculous at times.

    • +5

Welcome to OzBargain, where people believe they are entitled to pay for Hyundais and get Mercs…

      • +1

        id rather have a i30n/stinger than a base merc/bmw

    • Honestly thought the same thing. Now I'm laughing at these comments from people that haven't been. Go. I've warned you.

    • Thanks for your kind words! :)
Our Nunawading restaurant is aimed to get a sampling of what Korean cuisine is like. Its difficult to get a sample of the diversity of Korean food. Let alone for any value and that too under one roof. We took upon that challenge with our AYCE where we feature dishes that have been popular (with seasonal changes to mix it up a bit). To those who wish for a more intimate a-la-carte experience, we highly recommend our sister restaurant in Camberwell.

"Miss Korea Kitchen" Wow! You think?

        • +6

Well done, you managed to get even racist/stupider, which is a fair effort given the first comment.

        • -2

I guess that's depends on the reader's interpretion of their vauge comment. Think you might be projecting your own views?

  • +1

Any chance we could get 25% discount for kids too? Please?

  • +4

Great value, have dined here several times and always enjoyed the food.

Sure it's no crown casino conservatory buffet, but for Korean food is excellent value even at the full price.

    • +2

Yep given that a cheap meal anywhere else is like $15
      Or even McDonald's

You get to eat as much

Sure the pizza is a bit average

But some of the korean dishes like bulgogi are no different to Korean take away

I even suggested they get rid of the dessert bar because it was so bad, and to just leave the ice cream freezer

      • Is maccas that much? WTF seriously?

I only ever ate it sporadically as a teen. Thought it was still $7-8 for a meal.
$15 seriously? To eat crap? People are so messed up.

  • +9

    I highly recommend this buffet.

As a Korean living in Melbourne, most of their foods are above average. There are few extra foods added recently and you can't go wrong with $14.95. My food recommendation - Fried chicken, Prawn, Seawood soup, Bulgogi, Pork Bulgogi etc.

  • +4

This is my regular place. I was willing to go when it was 20+. Pizza is the best i find (maybe not the margherita, but their korean flavoured pizza is great). Also icecream desserts are korean brands. Got lots I like.

  • +2

Do I need a printed copy of the coupon or can just show it on the phone?
Do I need to mention this discount with the booking?

    • +1

      "Phone is fine."

(Not sure if phone is indeed fine in this case but you'd assume so)

      • Hi!
Yes, its is completely fine to just show the coupon on your phone when paying! No need to mention it at booking. But we highly recommend booking ahead!

$15 for me, $12 for my 4 yr son?

    • Hi IceTooth!
Yes, that is correct! $14.90 per head and $12 for kids between the ages of 4-10.
      Kind regards,
      Miss Korea Kitchen 288

Man hard pleasing everyone in this thread eh.

This store was originally an Italian restaurant which it has a dome for cooking pizza
Now changed to a korean buffet restaurant they still serve pretty nice pizza that cooked inside the dome (only 1 flavor per meal)

While the food are not premium quality
Paying $40 for myself, my wife and daughter (under 4yo) I have no complain at all
I found going there is even cheaper than visiting most restaurants and order 2 mains and 1 kid meal

  • +10

Thanks to everyone for their overwhelming support once again.

We are always open to feedback and constructive criticism and try our best to make the necessary changes to address them. For instance, criticism about the food going cold; dessert menu; seating arrangements and menu variety are things we have made significant adjustments to since we opened in November 2018.

The restaurant industry is a tough gig and more difficult when your main value proposition is value as opposed to the best quality (which we thrive to achieve at our ala-carte Camberwell restaurant - www.misskorea.com.au).

If there is anything we can do to improve - kindly drop me a direct PM and we will try our utmost best to address it to the best of our ability.

    • +1

Well said! Congratulations on your 1 year. Definitely not easy surviving in the hospitality area these days. All the best in the future.

    • Ahh even better, I work on Camberwell Junction so it's only a short walk up to your restaurant. I should be able to recommend it for the next team meeting. (have only been to Chicken and Jokbal in Camberwell which was really nice too!)

  • +1

I thought it was pretty good at the regular price! $15 is a steal

  • -7

The place is hard to find parking, you have to walk a long way as paparich diners all took up the parking. You drive there and had to walk like 500m to the shop. No wonder they have to put the price down. The food was just average, if you can afford it, go to the steak place next door.

    • +1

500m!!!!! Well, death awaits, I guess, after that level of exertion.

    • 500m walk? OH NO!! Probably a good way to walk off and digest the food you will be consuming at the AYCE.

"The food was just average, if you can afford it, go to the steak place next door."

Hahah…What if you consider the food at the steak place average? I guess I should tel you if you can afford it, go to Vue De Monde. Oh…but we are comparing apples and oranges.

    • Hi CoreJava,

There is usually ample parking right next to the restaurant as we are located within the Brand Smart Outlet.

There is also off-street (free) parking right in front of the restaurant as well.

Highly recommend both Squires Loft & Pappa Rich (who are also situated in the same Outlet) if Steak and Malaysian food is what you fancy.

      Regards
      MKK

  • You won't get enough food if too many people visit at the same time. I'm too polite to argue with staff so I just leave.

    • +1

      Hi Xinyi,
We have had issues in the past where we had extremely busy sessions. But rest assured we have dealt with them by coordinating with our chefs and the back of the house such that our kitchen delivers food in a promptly manner. We apologise if this has happened to you in the past, but we are well aware and made necessary changes for the busiest of sessions. But in order to help us cope we highly recommend everyone booking ahead at http://misskoreakitchen.com.au/.
      Thanks!

  • Do you guys have a menu? I’m vegetarian and lactose intolerant was wondering if there are options as I would love to come

    • A lot of spicy Korean dishes. Instant noodles. Cocktail cost a lot

    • +1

      Hi broseph21,
Have a look at http://www.misskoreakitchen.com.au/our-buffet-menu/ for a sample of the items we have on offer. We do have additional dishes depending on whats in season. While we have quite a few non-vegetarian dishes, we do have a few vegetarian options such traditional side dishes and DIY Bibimbap. Please do let our staff know about any food allergies and they will gladly help you out. Hope to see you soon!

  • Corona virus is going to really hurt buffet lunch and dinner restaurant. My suggestion would be to scrap the buffet for now and make it a la carte order and have it served from the kitchen. The problem is going to be that no one is going to want to eat out anywhere.

  • -3

Who would go to buffet lunch or dinner when the virus is around. People cough on food and you eat it.

    • You do know that this isnt the only buffet in the country

      • -3

I am saying all the buffet places will be shutting down soon.

      • Yeah, but it's the one they're jihading against in this thread, so…

  • Hopefully this doesn't get ozbargained tonight. I've been many times and it's always busy so unsure if the discount will make them to run out of food or something.

  • +4

I went last night and it was really good (especially for the price). I will be back again even at normal price!

    • Hi Kiz!
Glad that you had a good meal with us last night! We would love to see you back again soon.
