This is literally the last thing you want if you had coronavirus. The main danger from coronavirus is a build up of mucus, you want to be coughing to clear it out as much as possible. You want a expectorant to loosen and make the mucus easier to clear.

Can take several weeks for your body to produce its own antigens after the vaccination, and last for several months to get you through the winter. You never know if there will be enough vaccines for everyone as well
It only lasts so long. You get it now and it will be wearing off during the actual flu peak August and September.
Word of advice, no over the counter cough suppressant has any efficacy beyond placebo and they're inferior to honey. So what you're paying for is an expensive, gross placebo
I don't know about that. Dextromethorphan-HBr based cough medicines certainly do something to me…

Dextromethorphan doesn't really have any evidence of efficacy, although that's not to say it didn't help as the placebo effect can be quite powerful.
I just think it's quite irresponsible that these products are sold and marketed as they are.

DXM is a part of the morphinan family and is the enantiomer of a strong opioid that never hit the market, yet its effects classify it as a dissociative. It may not completely cure your cough but it's pretty hard to do anything when its interaction as an NMDA receptor antagonist makes you pass out into another dimension :-)
Second that - all sold now over the counter are useless, might work for some as placebo.
The only things that worked were codeine-based.
Last time I had heavy cough and asked my GP for prescription, it was like I asked for cocaine.
If you look like a junkie then maybe your GP was hesitant to give you a script for it knowing that a lot of people abuse the substance.
