These Ecovacs robot vacuums have been very popular in the past, this one though originally retailed for $999 - next week $399 at Aldi!

What did they rate poorly?
It was poor at picking up dirt from both floors and carpets. That makes it pretty useless as a vacuum.
lol. thanks. I looks like most of the youtube reviews are paid by Ecovacs.
@Zwarzy: "vacuum wars" does pretty good reviews and comparisons of robot vacuums
These better or worse than Xiaomi robo vac gen 1?
Its just good enough. Don't think good enough as a Xiaomi.
This has a mop function which gives decent results. Also, this was sold for 299 last year.
Love my gen 1.
It was a 610 not a 900
Those gen 1s were pretty excellent!
Agreed. Want another one for upstairs
Sister got this then took it back and got a Gen 1. Gen 1 is better
This one looks like it has some sort of 'laser mapping' function with that pop-up domey thing on top. Ad description also says it maps rooms and you can put virtual barriers. Could the Gen 1 do that?
Yeah gen 1 had LIDAR mapping as well. Not sure if the app allowed for virtual barriers though
Nope. Magnetic tape.
They’re kinda old now though.
tried 610 model last year for $299 but it wasnt smart enough, returned back and bought Xiaomi gen 1. very happy with it
These are surely a frontrunner for the most useless invention ever. There I said it…
Does Aldi allow something like this to be returned if used for a few weeks and doesn't work as expected?
yes…60 days for a full refund
we just found out we are expecting a baby! One of the first things I think of is to get a robot vacuum to make it easier for the wife (and for myself) for the duration of our pregnancy. Should I get this one at Aldi for $400 or pay $100 extra to get the Xiaomi Roborock S50? Thanks ahead for the advices :)
Noooooo, I was ready to pull the trigger on this one (finally), but it looks like the Deebot OZMO 900 DOES NOT support multi-floor mapping, meaning that if you have a 2 storey house, the vacuum will have to remap the whole floor every single time you use it! I tried to call Ecovacs Australia to clarify but it looks like they're shut due to a public holiday (Canberra day???). Anybody can confirm if this is the case?
Buy two?
Anyone manage to get one of these? My wife lined up with all of the toilet paper nutters only to be told by staff that they didn't get any of these vacs. Apparently they were stopped by customs and didn't make it into the country???
I saw few people getting these today morning from Plenty Valley Aldi.
Not sure if they still have them in stock though.I got one from Vermont in Victoria. At least 15 in stock first thing this morning.
Only difficulty getting one was that they were stocked near the toilet paper.
Got one from Aldi in midland WA
Only able to go get one after work today. Hopefully still in stock at my local stores.
I am going to try and do the same thing now too. I don't like my chances.
No luck at my local ALDI but kinda as expected.
Does it pick up more dirt than Dyson V7?
I got one yesterday, looks and works fine, but I cannot link it to the app.
Tried about 10 times, put it next to the wireless router, goes to 91% then it fails.
Any bright ideas?
This vacuum was very poorly rated by Choice.
