Had this for 2 years maybe for the same price. It's comfy, no issues watching YouTube, music sounds great too.

    • Thanks for sharing your feedback.

    • Can confirm this, had mine almost 2 years. Sound quality is fantastic and they're a good fit for people with fat heads. The touch controls are unique but definitely not impossible to use. The ear pads do come loose time to time but I just see that as a minor inconvenience for some awesome set of headphones.

  • Controls are almost impossible, far better ways to spend this sort of money on headphones.

    • I imagine you are referring to the ‘touch controls’.
Seems like many others (such as Sony XM3) use touch controls as well.

Yeah but touch controls can be implemented well and they can also be implemented terribly. The Yamaha headphones just so happen to implement them so badly that it's beyond comprehension

        • +1

It would be good to know how poorly the touch controls work.
          If you can share.

          • @thebadmachine: REALLY REALLY poorly. HTH

@mickeyjuiceman: I was hoping for some details.
Like unit fails to register / respond to touch action performed.
Or the actions are difficult and always end up with wrong response from headphones etc.

  • Do these have a microphone?

    • Headphone, not Headset

My bad, does, surprised. Though wouldn't expect much given its mounted in it.

    • it has, but the sound quality is not very good. I used it to do phone call, I need to speak quite loud to allow other side hear me clearly.

  • Anyone know where to get replacement earpads for these, or if any generic ones work? Mine have ripped after two years as they easily fall off and it's quite tricky to get them back on securely

”Brainwavz” pads seem to be well received & fit a lot of similar headphones
      (Audio Technica ATH-M40X / Yamaha HPH-MT5 etc).

There are standard ones (Pleather) for $28.99, red Velour (fabric) is $29.50, and black Hybrid (Velour / Pleather) is $34.50.
All prices are for a pair.

Be aware the sound may change slightly & there will be less insulation with the Velour pads.
Pleather should also stay cleaner & last longer.

      • Brilliant, thank you!!!

        • Let me know if you buy any replacements, I seem to have the same problem as you with my Yamaha cushions falling off.

I had the same issue with ear pads getting loose. I contacted Yamaha support advising them of this and asked if I could purchase some as my warranty had expired. To my surprise they just sent me out a new set free of charge. I would suggest you give it a try and contact support to see what they say. This was through the Yamaha website.

  • If you have large ear , this headphone is very uncomfortable.
