Unfortunately it's a $49 spend as a Prime member for free shipping.

Yep, as per title and body of post. Otherwise it's $8.50 postage to most parts of the country.

was tempted to get one but couldn't find anything else on amazon to get - and the other puzzles aren't a special price or anything!

    Thanks OP

    • Ha - you're doing better than me!. At any given time I've got 50+ items on my wish list, just waiting to pull the trigger at the right time and price!

The other listed puzzles - whilst not as compelling as a $6.58 sale price - are still well under usual pricing. Looking at the countless other Hanayama puzzles for sale via Amazon, Ebay or toy stores, you'll find most selling for over $20.

      • yeah i always have stuff in my cart but I usually buy separately only mean a certain items reaches a best price. I used to just buy a load of things when needing to get free shipping but realised that all the things i want to buy at one time could all get cumulatively smaller in price, so not worth buying all the items i ant in the cart just to get a deal on one thing if that makes sense.

    Frequently bought together:

This item:Flag Hanayama Cast Metal Brain Teaser Puzzle (Level 1) $6.58
Quilton 3 Ply Aloe Vera 95 Facial Tissues 12 Pack, 1140 count, Pack of 1140 $20.00

    …huh?

    • +1

      Lol, I got the same

    • +1

      Ha! You're doing well.

The Amazon bot suggested I pick up some toilet paper and a body massager. I'm genuinely intrigued to know exactly how everyone else sets about solving puzzles…

You'll need the tissues if you buy Hanayama Cast Hourglass(even though it's stamped, not cast).

The solution is 5 pages long.

        Highly recommended for puzzle lovers.

It's very good quality, and very tough, unlike the cast H & H I just bought. It really is cast, and I've seen one break before because a first timer was a little rough with it.

    • Might be people buying staples to bump up their order +$49.

    • the difficulty makes you cry

  • Is this a certain brand? Looks like they're many on Aliexpress for $3-7USD.

    • Ctrl + F "Hanayama".

Got a link for any of the ones on Ali Express?

      • +1

Japanese, I will assume better quality than Chinese knock offs!

        • +2

Safe bet. Hanayama are deservedly well known for their craftsmanship and fine cast puzzles - some of their pieces are legitimate works of art in their own right.

Still interested in any of the cheap options on Ali Express if they are comparable at under AU$5, if you've got any links.

  • not going to try and scrape another $40 on other stuff

  • Anyone got any basic items that would help me get over the $49?

Hanayamas aside, books are my go to for cart-filling. Booko makes it easy to compare pricing across sellers, and Amazon US has some great pricing on a wide range if you can dodge the shipping fees.

  • We need 8 people who want to buy and can pick up in Sydney. Any takers?
