Could not recommend this vacuum enough. Thanks gearbite!

    • Comparison with Dyson range, what is better bang for buck? Performance wise what is the Dyson equivalent?

      • I've seen another post mention it's compariable to a V8, but I do not know how accurate that is.

  • Thoughts on needing the additional soft & carpet attachments?

    • I got the carpet head but still not sure what surfaces to use the soft roller head?
It's not exactly low or firm enough to be mopping or polishing surfaces, as far as I can tell anyway.
I can sorta get not using the soft roller on regular carpet where it probably just wears out the fuzziness, but still doesn't really explain what it's for …

thanks for sharing, will grad the standard one.

      • +1

        hard floors

  • Thanks OP! Just what was on my mind this morning.
Just got this to pair with the MI Robot for my parents apartment.

  • This seems to pretty much be a ongoing deal now.

When will the prices go further down with the introduction of the V10 replacing V9?

    • V10 do not have much improve, so we wont have V10 au version, we will sell next model if dreame launch this year.

  • +1

I ordered from these guys previously and they were lightning quick. Great job

  • Great vacuum, using it daily. At this price no competition.
And thanks guys for restocking Xiaomi Mi Robot, I was looking for another one.

    • Hi. How much of an angle can the vacuum bend at? Is is able to bend under couches at all? Thanks

  • +1

Hi rep - who do you use for shipping? Australia Post or other courier?

    • +5

      AUSPOST.

  • +1

    These better than the Dyson?

    • +1

      Xiaomi Marketing team, says yes.
Dyson engineering team, would say no.
Why not just listen to what your wallet says :)

  • We used to have a cordless Dyson stick vac - ended up breaking down after a few years and never replaced it. We were using it less and less for the floors anyway as it would scratch the floorboards. We no longer have high-gloss floors, but how is Dreame on hardwood floors?

    • Standard pack would better for you if you only have highwood floors.

      • We have both - boards and carpet.

Therefore, does the combo with the carpet head also include the standard head (ie. does it ship with everything the standard kit has - plus the carpet head)?

        • carpet head will be on combo package for $299.99 which have soft roller motor-head and carpet roller motor-head.

  • We've been starting to look more closely at these (and other stick vacs).

Our house isn't huge, 100 sqm, and is 50/50 tiles and hard pile rugs. Haven't used vacuums for… 30 years, I don't really get this whole Carpet Head thing. I've always just put my foot on the little toggle to switch between hard surfaces and soft surfaces.

I can't work out whether I'd be unable tovacumm half the house if I bought this without the carpet head… Feedback from owners?
That and I have 0 interest in changing the foot multiple times as I move between rooms.

    • +1

I've always just put my foot on the little toggle to switch between hard surfaces and soft surfaces.

That kind of floor tool does not have a powered brush head. It's less effective at cleaning carpets. A brush head would agitate the dust and kick it up where it can be sucked.

Should work fine on hard floors though.

I can't work out whether I'd be unable tovacumm half the house if I bought this without the carpet head… Feedback from owners?

The soft roller is not intended for carpets. You should get the carpet head.

That and I have 0 interest in changing the foot multiple times as I move between rooms.

If you can't be bothered pressing the foot switch, swapping heads as you move between rooms will be even worse. I would just do all the carpets first, then swap the head and do the hard floors. Or you can do it in reverse. I'm a lazy bugger myself, but I think you have me beat.

It will take more work changing heads, but you will get a better clean than the floor tool with a switch that you are using.

      • Thanks for the feedback.

Might have interpretted my comment wrong, I have no problem doing the foot switch multiple times, but switching the head altogether (multiple times) would be a pain. I guess with more freedom (no cord) like you say, it'd be easier to do all the carpets in one go, meaning only one switch out. Cheers.

    • None of these stick vacs are technically suitable for rugs since most rugs recommend against using motorised brush heads on them.

  • Thanks OP. I've just purchased one. Happy to report back findings once received.

  • Is the battery removable or serviceable?

    • Yes, we have spare battery for warranty.

      • +1

Does that mean the battery isn't replaceable?

        • most tech companies learned years ago that when you make the battery non replaceable by the user, revenues increase by a lot, either in repair costs, or people buying a new unit every few years.

I think Apple popularized this trend.

          • @lostn: Not naive to assume not, but some companies still do. As the Gearbite rep stated, this vacuum has one of those replaceable batteries ;)

        • +2

battery is replaceable, very easy to replace by yourself.

  • Could not recommend it enough also.
My two 17 year olds are fighting over it to use it first…..
Not recommended for doing two floors in one sitting (standing), battery not enough.

My two 17 year olds are fighting over it to use it first

      0.o

      • +3

17 year old kids are fighting to use it and vacuum their rooms. That just freaked me out.

    • +3

Buy a second one, and they can both do one floor each.

P.S. You must be the happiest parents alive.

  • thanks got one!

  • +4

It would be good if someone who has this and Dyson Vxx could write a little comparison. Don't want to downgrade if it is not at least as good as Dyson.

    • Depends on which Dyson you want to compare to. V6-V8 maybe, but I don’t think it’s comparable to V10-V11

    • +2

Yeah any feedback here would be great. I'm wondering the same thing

      • +2

        I have this, a dyson v6 and a dyson v8.

The dreame dock is by far the best. It holds everything and the charging solution is elegant whereas the dyson goes old school by putting the charging tip inside the dock and only has 2 holders for accessories

The dreame beats the v6 hands down in everything. Running time, suction and emptying.

The dreame seems similar to my dyson v8. Except i bought it for $300 2 years ago+ and the dyson v8 for around $600 at the around the same time, but it had the carpet roller where the dreame didnt. So its a no brainer.

        Get the dreame. Pun intended

  • finally… I now have to change from mopping to vacuuming ….

  • Need guidance.. I have 5 bedroom house with old carpet. Used vax motorised powered vacuum for Last 3 years but now it's not effective as it used to be. I am always doubtful of battery powered are good for carpet. If it's not good for my case, can you suggest any good powerful one. Thanks in advance

    • +2

Dyson V10 or V11. Guaranteed good for carpet. But expensive.

      • Thanks mate

  • It's probably right in front of me, but can I purchase the carpet head attachment seperately? Already have the dreame v9 and moving to somewhere with carpet in a few weeks!

    • Yes, we sell carpet motor-head seperetely, please check at our ebay store.

  • I love mine. Well worth the $240

My plan was to get one of these and a robot vacuum but this does such an easy, fast, good job that I probably won't end up getting the robot vac at this stage.

    Thanks Gearbite

  • Is the carpet accessory really necessary if you have carpet?

  • do you guys sell replacement genuine filters for these ?

    • +1

      fitler is washable.

  • Is Tobys Deals fake? I see Dyson V11 Animal for $685
Just so many people selling used units for $900 + on Gumtree so I'm confused. I gather different models?

    • I've bought from Toby deals before and was well impressed. By far the cheapest. Their plugs are not Australian though so you need an adaptor. Haven't had to claim warranty either so can't comment on that.

  • +1

Got this last week, what a fantastic little machine!

  • Can the $239.99 deal be used for carpeted floors? Or do you need to purchase the $299.99 deal??

Seems odd that you have to spend more money on an additional head for carpet.

Would really like the OP to clarify this as I see other people asking similar Q.

Looks like it's a marginal difference. Probably wouldn't notice.

You get the carpet head for $60 more in this deal - and they sell it separately for $80 in their ebay store. If you have pets, or long haired house humans it’s probably going to do a better job getting it with the specialised head. Could also depend on your carpet type / weave.

    • Look at the dyson line up eg the base model, the absolute etc. The difference is the accessories and therefore the price. So its not really odd. And yes, the carpet head has stiff bristles to lift the dirt/debris from carpets that are caught in the fibres but scratch hard floors where as the soft roller head does not have stiff bristles as its designed not to scratch hard floors but as a consequence it does not agitate the debris stuck in carpets and cant vacuum it properly.

      • It is odd - but I've worked out why. In Australia, the vast majority of homes will have carpeted floors - either most of the house or at least the bedrooms. This is an asian product where the primary/common asian flooring is hard - predomintely tiles. So from an asian market perspective, it makes sense for the vacum to come standard with a soft head but from a western perspective, its the opposite. The flip side of that from a sales position is that the seller would probably do more upsales with the carpet head than the other way around.

        • I see what you mean, as it is odd for soft roller head as standard instead of carpet head as standard. Well most houses are a mixture so it really suits anyone

  • +3

    These are great.
But any flexible hose attachment ?
That would help with cleaning a car

    • does the trigger need to be held down for it to suck? If so, that would not be ideal for cars with a hose attachment.

The Dyson is designed like this, and so I don't use it.

  • Mine is still going strong 4 months later. Has made cleaning up sooooo much easier.

  • You can get Roidmi F8 at Kogan right now for $350 + shipping. Includes both attachments.

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/xiaomi-roidmi-f8-cordless-vacuu…

This is a better unit. It's based on the V10/11 design. Should be easier to empty also. Has more attachments and includes flexible hose.

@gearbite product rep, can i return this if i don like the performance of it like with in 15 days?

  • Got ours Monday after ordering it on the 24th of Feb. Missus loves it, work got and paid $690 for a Dyson V8 absolute last year. Going to say the quality already feels better, suction also is better. Happy purchase for sure.
