    Rep,
Need same deal as before on:

Xiaomi Mijia Bedside Lamp 2 $31 US (~$45.61 AU) Delivered

  • Is tbere a pluggable version

    • Second this. Pluggable will be good. Aldi had them the other day, I should have bought more

  • Are these good value for what they are? I've never looked into pricing for these type of lights.

    • +1

Yeah these are great for hallways and places where you don’t want people turning on and off light. Have previously bought 10 or more of these and looking to buy more.

      • You are using all 10 in one house?

        • Nah family members love them so much and they took some. I just about 7 around the house but this is a double storey house.

    • Have tried a few these are the best in terms of quality, longevity and detection area so far.

Xiaomi make pretty good products they are of decent quality.

I just want to get the version that parts you I think detach the light and charge it via micro usb so it eliminates the need for batteries.

I have tried only three different kinds of motion sensor lights.

The Xiaomi are the only ones still lasting and the brightness is not blinding unlike some no name brand one I bought.

But yeah I want a deal on the one with a rechargeable and detachable light because when my current ones eventually run out disposing of the batteries is going to be bad for the environment.

      • These newer one look good. You can always use rechargeables for these which is what I did. But yeah can’t fault it on longevity and sensor works great. https://m.geekbuying.com/item/xiaomi-Mijia-MJYD02YL-Night-Li…

        • Yeah not bad just uses 3 x AA batteries still.

        • Look at AliExpress that model can be bought at around $12 plus GST each.

          • @CyberMurning: Oh ok I’ll look into it. Thanks.

            • @nightelves: And maybe $1 less each if you buy 2 or 3 from the same seller. That's why I'll wait and won't buy this one from geekbuying….

And forget about buying more the yeelight rechargeable model. It may stop being produced so price is crazy expensive now.

              • @CyberMurning: Yeah saw the price. They used to be the same price as the Xiaomi Light even the xiaomi bedside lamp is crazy expensive now.

      • Rechargeable ones are yeelight brand not mijia. Both owned by Xiaomi go figure.

I have recharge model, and also the detachable half round base but with battery (second gen from this one posted here)

Both are good. Agree, detachable and rechargeable will be puurrrfecto

        • Yeah only way they could improve this for me is have an optional screen maybe touch activated or just a flick switch on the back to show time and temperature info like current temperature current humidity or just the light.

Would be cool to have in some instances like for me I put these lights in the basement level and ground floor and the temperature difference is very noticeable going downstairs.

I dunno I guess they are pretty good as is just need the rechargeable and detachable option then they would last forever.

          • @AlienC: Nah no need screen. I prefer all have always on switch. The mijia gen two detachable doesn't have it.

      • Would rechargeable batteries work?

        • They would but then you guys find a spot for the charger and keep tabs on it.

        • Yes, I much prefer to just put fresh LADDAs in all of them every couple of months instead of taking them all off the wall to be charged.

    • I have 2 and they're pretty good. Not super bright, and sometimes the range is average I have one on my staircase and that lights up easily.
I have one above a door and that one doesn't light up easily.

I'd recommend placing it head level or lower.

But I've had them for about 3 months, they both light up maybe 5 or so times a night and they still have battery.

      • Turn them 90°. Sensor probably works horizontally, this way it would go vertical.

    • I don't think there's a particular need to buy Xiaomi for this particular one. I picked up a couple of an off brand from OzB a while back and they work fine for the purpose too. Pretty much the same design - puck shape, PIR sensor not active during the day, 3xAAA.

Cheaper than this so I'd rather just get those instead if they ever came up.

      • +1

        which ones?

      • Yeah which ones.

I tried a few of them and one burned through the batteries super fast and the other also really fast so I'm sticking with Xiaomi which are still on the original batteries since 2019 April.

      • Sorry guys can't find that deal again. In a pocket of free time I flicked through some search results but didn't come across it.

  • These are good. But, the Yeelight sensor lights are more useful. They are chargeable, the sensor is better and also got a very strong magnet at the back that you can stick to any steel surface.

    • Was told the Yeelight is less bright than these ones based on youtube reviews.

      • They are similarly bright. The mijia lights don't recognise you at some angles. Yeelights see you pretty much at every angle. I've got 7 Mijia and 6 yeelight sensor lights at home and would prefer the yeelight all day every day.

Yeelight official website sometimes drop the price from $20 to $15.

    • Aside from the fridge, shower and maybe washing machine I can't think of many steel metal surfaces where I could make use of the magnetic base.

Wish they made a cheaper version without the magnet and just adhesive and hook.

  • I selected USD, standard shipping and paid through VISA and got $22.07 after the conversion, on the Sensor night light pack. Unsure what I did wrong to not get the above price.
Edit: I also used the code

    • Does your bank charge a conversion fee? Some silently add it in, check if your bank does.

  • 0.61 cents discount ? wth?

It's already on a flash sale so this just reduces it a bit further. Stack with cashback for even more.

      • are you sure about the cashback? I've to dealt with manual approval to get pending cashback for this item https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/513933 - luckily just small amount. Coupon wasn't listed on the cashrewards website. The status is still pending right now.

        • Yes I have an agreement in place with Cashrewards. The likely reason for that would have been the Chinese New Year and Coronavirus causing staff to be off longer than expected.

The GeekBuying office itself doesn't have all their staff back with many still working from home. I'll chase up the affiliate manager and see what's going on.

For what it's worth, I have 3 of these and they are amazing, battery rarely needs replacing, probably lasts around 6 months

  • Aaaaand its out of stock :(

Bugger. Should have acted last night. Is this coming back into stock?

  • Ikea has a similar item for $10
    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/40263730/

I have one as a wardrobe light and it works well. I'm using Ladda rechargeables in it but haven't needed to rejuice them yet.

    • no hook or magnet :(

      • +1

I'm sure you could stick a hook or magnet on the back if you really wanted…
