Changed it to coffee bags instead and they only give you 2. So assume a similar small sample for the ground coffee..

Not particularly cheap if you order them regularly.70 for 1kg.
i use 21g per shot, 1kg gives me 47 shots if i grind it extremely carefully, works out to be $1.5 per shot. it is super expensive for an unknown beans
21g is a double shot to be fair though, but yeah $70/kg is very expensive when there is really good coffee for $50/kg
its a triple shot to be exact

Heres various roasters I've tried over the last couple of years - they all sell single origion around your price range, and all have a blend for $50 a kilo give or take. ALL provide a roast date, and it will always been less than a week old.

Thanks for this list, I saw a lot of single region & blends but do you know if any of these actually do single estate & openly share their certificates? We focus on finding the best certified estates & working to roast their production for optimal quality in micro batches. It doesn't make sense to do blends on single estates as you loose the flavor nuances of that plantation… That's creating value in the supply chain & that's helping promote the artisan-ship of coffee. We understand that many can't justify the additional cost & happy with the coffee blend experience but that's not our purpose with Chain of origin.

wow, talk about a community with an impact.
We didn't expect to get this many free sample orders. Unfortunately we've exhausted our current batch of single estate coffee. We will still fulfill the orders from the OzBargain community but we've stopped taking anymore orders including samples until further notice.

This was defiantly not something we had budgeted for this project but if you all spent the time to fill out the forms, then we need to honor that as part of the value exchange. Sorry we don't have a bigger budget to fulfill more orders, hopefully as we grow we can support this community even more. We know that sampling is the best way to educate consumers & to drive change in coffee consumption habits…

I signed up and received mine a couple days ago.. great coffee.. Sample is maybe 200 grams
200 grams is very decent considering their "small" is 250g.
Yeah might be closer to 100 grams actually.. It doesn't say on the package so I'm just guessing but yeah for free really can't complain!

Still have not received my sample and neither has my friend. I was originally impressed that they stated they would honour the samples requested and would be definitely buying if I like the coffee but seems that they may not have honoured all requests. At least not yet anyway. I have gone and purchased my usual beans for time being. I was hoping that I would return the favor and purchase some beans from them if they were decent.
EDIT: just saw above that they are still working through sending the samples. I assume I was not one of the 300 as I did not receive mine. Hopefully they will honour the rest.
