  • so for dashcam this is the kind of card i need to get? endurance thing? not just normal samsung card many posted previously?

    • yes

    • +3

Other cards will work, but this will work for longer.

    • thanks.. and 32gb is good/big enough? xiaomi dashcam.

      • +1

Wait for a deal on Sandisk High Endurance 128gb, I paid not much more than this in a deal about 2 months ago. For front and rear FHD dashcam that gives about 12.5 hours recording time.

        • Is there an apparent difference between the one you got vs the Pro? @nubzy

      • If your dashcam supports larger capacity, go for that instead.

    • I've had a Samsung Evo in my dashcam which sits in the sun every day for the past 3 years and it's been fine so……

      • and continously recording for that 3 years?

        • Yea, I checked the footage few days ago. Only thing that's gone bad is the mount. It has slightly warped due to the few 40° heat days I had but it still works. Even my other dash cam on my suv that also sits in the sun everyday has an el cheapo 32gb Kingston card and that still works.

    • Yes, this is the one you need for dashcam, standard cards will work also but this one has a lot more "endurance".
Though I recommend the 128GB model for $58.45 as with my Viofo A129 dashcam it records @3GB per hour, so if someone vandalizes your car 12 hours previous, the file would be deleted by the time you got to your car. Also if you have a major car accident you may not be able to get to your car to upload the video data, a 128GB will give you almost 2 days of recording/peace of mind. My standard Sandisk class 10 200GB card ($55) died on a 43C day.
BTW my previous dashcam didn't survive the extreme heat the previous year, so I'm all in on heat resistant dashcam/cards, I would have saved a lot of money if I had that approach at the start!! This card is meant to be heat resistant to 85C. Anyhow below is a blurb I copied and pasted from the Samsung website: From severe weather to extensive wear and tear, the PRO Endurance stands up to real-world situations. It is rigorously tested and proven resistant to magnets¹, X-rays², water (up to 72 hours in seawater IPX7) and withstands operating temperatures ranging from -25°C to 85°C. Get maximum endurance for surveillance & security cams, dash cams, and body cams. In the critical seconds of an accident or emergency situation, a trustworthy card is essential. The PRO Endurance is the reliable choice for crucial moments and write-intensive applications.

      • That looks like a blurb that you copied and pasted from the Samsung website.

        • @b2dz As stated!!?? I don't get it, which is disappointing cause I like a laugh!!

      • any advantage of Samsung Endurance cards vs SanDisk Endurance ones? I have just bought a 128gb SanDisk high Endurance for 34$ from Amazon AU, which is a bit more than the $28 deal average for that card type.

      • "BTW my previous dashcam didn't survive the extreme heat the previous year"

Why don't they just make dashcams out of the stuff that rearview mirrors are made from? They seem to survive just fine.

  • My Sandisk card sits 8n my car camera for 7 years, all good
