Thanks buddy
If only we got Fage in Australia.
Greek yoghurt is just a variety that has been strained, nothing to do with where it was made. I'm gathering the article you referred to is mainly about the flavoured varieties of Chobani Greek yoghurt, as the plain one only has the ingredients of milk and cultures, which says to me it gets it's thickness from straining, not from additives, and it only contains 3.3g of sugar per 100g.
Greek yoghurt is just a variety that has been strained
No, Greek yoghurt is yoghurt made in Greece.
Greek style yoghurt is a yoghurt made to resemble Greek yoghurt.
Same reason that you can't get Champagne made in Australia.
C'mon jv, i normally rate your opinion, and vast experience, you must be trolling because a simple google search will tell you that you are wrong.
@jv: I like the last paragraph.
"We will continue to advocate our view that the population of the UK knows and understands Greek Yoghurt to be a product description in terms of how it's made, not where it is made, similar to things like French fries and English muffins in the US,"
We will continue to advocate
Even after the High Court concluded that what they were doing was illegal… Shows you the ethics of the owner…
things like French fries
The French don't call them French fries, so there's not problem.
Try calling sparkling wine French Champagne though, and see what happens…@jv: I can't be bothered really, and i am not commenting on the ethics of the owners, just stating that the common understanding of Greek yoghurt is to do with the fact that it is strained, not it's origin.
TIL it's not real cottage cheese unless its cheese made in a cottage
@csinc: Which country is “cottage” and do they object to the use of the name?
The owner of Chobani is a grub and won't be getting a single cent of my money. Ever.
Did he touch you inappropriately in 1987?
Why? His story seems quite remarkable if Wikipedia is accurate. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamdi_Ulukaya
Mmm, yoghurt that is Chobani flavoured! 🤣
Chobani flavoured!
Eating Greek yoghurt is "cultural appropriation", shame on you consumers. https://whyevolutionistrue.wordpress.com/2016/12/04/yogurt-a…
Got a couple of plain Chobani Greek Yoghurts from Woolies… it’s not very nice - a bit chalky, I have to say - much prefer Aldi’s Lycos “greek style” yoghurt… had to add cream to the Chobani to make it edible. Oh well, just a couple of bucks down, thanks to Ozbargain 😃.
buy the 1kg tub of chobani plain greek yoghurt for $5.50 and mix a tablespoon of jam into it every time you eat it. Way cheaper than this. You're welcome.
Buy 3L of milk with this and make your own yoghurt.
Fyi 100g typo in description.
