Is this the battery endorsed by Radioactive Man?

  • A lot of weight is necessary for the battery to have the required chemicals to perform. But it is also possible to make a battery heavier without making it powerful. Anyone have any experience with this one?

    • Motorola used to sell UHF radios with chunks of steel inside the casing just to be "weighty and quality" I've never relied on weight as any indicator of quality since…

      • Lots of examples of manufacturers doing this. Beats headphones with chunks of metal in them come to mind too.

Weight is definitely necessary but not sufficient for certain types of product to be of a decent quality.

400mm long? Wow, that's at least 20% longer than most of other 110Ah AGM batteries out there.

  • Should just get lithium instead as you would never get close to 50% out of 110ah.

    • I would but there are not 50AH lithium batteries available at this price point yet.

      • It’s not only the capacity, the capability to hold the charges and discharge rate, size, weight, safety etc….

Where is a lithium 110ah around this price mark?

      • For the long run, and 110ah Lead acid is less than a 50ah lithium though, but I do take into account that there is also no 50ah lithium at this price point. It’s just that I end up swapping mine lead acid to lithium that’s all.

    • lithium I think would not be suitable for the same applications this deep cycle battery is designed for. This is designed to be discharged, whereas a lithium based battery will die if discharged to 0 often.

      • Lead acid don’t even go under 50% depth of discharge where lithium should be fine with 80%. No one really discharge their battery to 0% period

  • Weight doesnt always mean its a true 110AH tho

  • Turns out product shipped was smaller than advertised. 25kgs and about 330mm long. Looks like the manufacturer is now shipping a smaller battery with the same part number. Still good value at this price.
