    • Nice try but it's $99 AFTER the $10 discount, not before it. :)

  • I am interested in the drawing tablet for graphics design work. Will do some research and get back to you.

  • Hi,

Does this unit come with a cooling fan or is it passively cooled?

  • +1

I didnt even think the spiel was possible!

Also i notice the normal price is $114.00, so the regular price save $40.00 is BS

  • Is this a good media player? I have the AP380T and the interface is kinda slow. Any one have any experience with this one?

    • It's nearly identical to the AP380DT, just a newer processor, thats basically the same thing but faster.

have you tried upgrading the 380DT?

The IBT firmware is better in many ways.

      • wow…ppl here knows more than we do..
don't forget this model comes with USB3.0 and Glan..

Rep, 2 questions please or anyone else may care to comment.

          1. Is it a true twin tuner i.e. allow recording both channels and watch the 3rd pre-recorded program? AFAIK many cheap ones are only "pretend" twin tuner can only watch 1 channel and record 1, but not both at same time.

          2. I assume it is a HD tuner not SD tuner?
            Thanks!

        • how many USB ports?

  • Looks like good specs - anyone got / used one? Any good? Any external reviews?

  • How would you get to files to it after you install an internal HDD? Would it be via USB or can you send files via FTP / Network Share over the Ethernet connection?

    • I think its via either network or usb directly connected to the computer. I have the AP380T and you can connect it to the computer and it will show up as a external HDD.

    $14 for delivery to Melbourne

  • Does anyone know what chipset does this media player uses ?

    • Not exactly sure, but based on the listed specs alone, at a guess it appears to be realtek 1185

  • looks good ,can't seems to find any reviews though ,does this come with the wifi dongle or do you have to purchase that also?

1 Built-in Dual Tuner enable watch and record of different channels simultaneously
    2 HD Tuner

    ohoho
    1x USB Device
    2x USB Host

      as shopaholic32 asked:

it is not a true twin tuner?
      (1) it can only watch 1 channel and record 1 simultaneously, but not record both at same time?
      (2) does it allow recording both channels and watch the 3rd pre-recorded program with it's own playback?

      • Sorry, just reading it off the spec. Haven't used one myself. To my knowledge, twin tuner is when you could watch one and record one at the same time, while single tuner doesn't allow that.

      • The ap380dt is a true dual tuner, lets you record two progams at once and play another. So I assume that this will do the same.

able to find a cheaper version of the same product on ebay ? will u match the price ? thats with free shipping as well.

    • Sorry but the price listed is below cost already.

  • I just bought one of these. Price here is great as I paid nearly $130 wholesale 2 days ago. Plays most media without problem. I added a wireless dongle and even plays bluray over network fine. PVR interface is a bit clunky. Only does timeshifting after pushing timeshift button. Box is small and looks good.

    • Hi, I'm interested to know how fast accessing and playing a video from a NAS server over a wireless N network is? I'm planning to hook this up to replace my PS3 (I want the PS3 somewhere else). All my videos are stored in a Western Digital My Book Live which is connected to my Wifi router.

Does this have the annoying feature of the previous versions whereby if a recording is scheduled and you are watching something else (e.g. a video file), when the scheduled recording starts you are automatically forced to the live TV screen and the video file you were watching stops?

  • After springing for a Nettop PC (ASROCK ION3D, with 6x USB2 on the back and 2 semi USB3 on the front, running windows 7) to run XBMC im not sure i could ever go for a another non XBMC based device, WDTV UI sucks (and the custom firmware craps itself on NTFS drives), its hard to get decent looks at the UI of most of these boxes, but i cant imagine any giving the experience that XBMC does.

    • sorry but what is XBMC? Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

      • I think he may be referring to http://xbmc.org/

Welcome to the fun filled world of the HTPC and obsessive/compulsive media centre buyers. ;)

        • wow…cool…not only we get bargains here, we also learn something new everyday….

    • +2

no comparison, the price for your XBMC player exceeds this PVR by a long way. You might as well be comparing a BMW to a 2nd hand Kia.

  • Can anyone comment on how useful the web browser is? Does it work with any website, or just the ones mentioned (YouTube etc)? Also, if there is no internal HDD fitted, can the PVR function record to external HDD or even NAS?

  • Does it do coverart? Or is it more like WD Tv look and feel?

  • Ordered one… we shall see how it goes, or it ends up on ebay.

Apparently this is a rebadged DXtreme DX-390, which retails for $199+ (HarrisTechnology). The DX-390 has been out for 6 months, but the Astone is a newly released device.

  • i cant find any reviews for this, is this a dependable pvr? a lot of complaints about other Astone pvr/media players to be found online, and i'm about to toss out the old but reliable toppy 5000 and have to find a replacement
ps is the $99 pvr from catch of the day any better than this?

  • Hi,

New to this forum, I just purchased one of these units (Astone MP-310DT 1080p Media Player Dual DVB-T PVR USB 3.0) and at this stage it all seems OK. The only issue I have is that I can't load my media files onto the new HDD I installed! My pc says that the new device installe ok but not vissable in "My Computer", any help out there. Just to let you all know, I paid $112.00 for the unit and $52.00 for the WD 1.0 Tb Caviar Green HDD.

    Cheers!

  • Me again, I worked out my problem, I had to "Format" the HDD before I could transfer files accross.

    Thanks anyhows…!
