Don't waste you time or money with a Kogan phone, I have bought 2 and each developed the same fault after approx 11 months use. They both stopped charging and had to be returned to Kogan, the first time we got a refund as the model was no longer available, the 2nd time I got a replacement phone which again stopped charging around 11 months, this time they fixed it and it has now stopped working and is less than 2 years old.
Yeah I kept reading nothing but issues about Kogan phones, they don't last in the absolute slightest.
Definitely in the "too cheap to be good" basket.
Well you're lucky (or not?). My first and last Kogan phone was the Agora 4G+ but it lasted 30 months before developing exact same issue, can't charge. It's out of warranty so I had no choice.
Why would you get this when you can get Samsung A20 for just $20 more?
Probably because the A20 isn't only $20 more right now.
If someone is desperate then they'll buy this, but even for $227 it's worth getting the A20 instead.
Billy Bob do you have a link for outright or Optus locked at 179 for A20?
While I'm all for Samsung A20 since this is terrible even budget-wise, this is unlocked and the $179 A20 is locked. So you will likely spend more than just $20. Since while you're at it, A30 locked was also as low as $179 and that's by far much better than both.
The A30 price was like that around xmas, where can I buy it today at that price?
The processor is a Spreadtrum SOC.
https://www.notebookcheck.net/UNISOC-SC9863A-SoC-Benchmarks-…The Unisoc SC9863A (formerly Spreadtrum) is an entry level octa core SoC with 8 ARM Cortex-A55 cores in two clusters. One performance cluster with up to 1.6 GHz and a efficiency cluster with up to 1.2 GHz.
1520 x 720 resolution. No way.
Same as a20, I can't fault the a20 screen. Not that I expect this to be as good, but the res alone isn't a deal breaker at this price IMO. I prefer the lower res and have an oled
is this good for using it as GPS nav for car? I hope the plastic bits dont melt under boiling hot summer days.
just received my A20 today, from amazon.
How much?
I suggest that the CPU is also an important spec to put in the description.
edit: it's SPRD9863
