AOC 27V2Q 27" Full HD (1920x1080) IPS 75hz FreeSync Monitor $179 (+ Delivery) @ Shopping Express

160

Have been waiting for a deal on this one - has a nice frame, and decent specs for the price.

Obviously a riskier purchase (harder) in terms of RMA, but I think for this price it's a steal.

FYI: 1920x1080 only - which for me, is fine. Also no VESA mount.

    1920 x 1080

    • Updated description, and removed the word "gaming" in case gamers get offended that it's not 4k.

God help us if the nerds get offended.

75hz is only really a gaming monitor for consoles. For PC you really want 144hz or more to be gaming monitor.

    • Yep, fair call. See above - i removed the word 'gaming' to not offend gamers.
Though I suspect 144hz is best for only the really fast action games.

Gah, no Vesa mount. This would have been perfect as a secondary monitor

For those looking for even better value, wait around for a sale on the AOC 24G2. 24" 1080p 144Hz IPS, should come into around $230-$250 with a sale.

It's currently at centre.com, for $269 which includes free shipping. I cant see any sales for that monitor in the near future considering how quickly it sells out in stores.

      • one concern is that the stock only arrives on the 3/2/2020 and takes 3 days to ship

I've got the 24V2Q and i really like it, very slim and frameless . I bought it for $94 with $20 cashback. Only cost me $74.

  • Any issues with these

  • I have a 27" AOC, not this one though. I got it for $199 or so a few years back now.

No significant issues with it. The plastic covering came off one of the buttons that you use to do settings, but that's not a problem as the button still works fine.

It's not as fully functioning as other monitors - the one I have only has one HDMI port and no USB ports. For those considering the one currently on sale I'd say go for it, unless there's a better option with more functionality. For me, if the monitor had more ports that would be really handy and worth more money.

  • Ok. Looking for some advice from the OzBargain community…

I'm after a new IPS monitor - I want a 27" so this deal caught my attention. I have a question, but I'll tell you a bit about what I want to use it for first… I'm going to be using InDesign and Photoshop/Lightroom a lot over the next 6 months, and working from home, so I want a good IPS to work from for best colour reproduction and also that's good on my eyes after staring at the screen all day… I'll be plugging my 2017 MacBook Air into it.

However, I also love my PS4 Pro and want to try get something that's going to reproduce the best graphics for that console…

    My questions are:
    1. Is there really a noticeable difference between 5ms and 1ms that a (part-time now I have a baby) first person shooter player like me will really notice? Is it worth me thinking about upgrading to something similar to the AOC 238 quoted above at Centrecom or will this deal suffice for my needs?
    2. Additionally, is it worth me upgrading to a 4K IPS instead? - something like https://www.centrecom.com.au/aoc-u2790vq75-27-ips-4k-monitor

  • OMG paid 200 bucks for this in December :( Forgot to buy this with my Coles CC as well. FML…

Anyway, for those who are wondering, I think this monitor makes a good second monitor. Received mine and happy with it.

Pleasant enough in the eye for the price and had no issue whatsoever.
