  • how much does it cost if your not a customer??

    • I think around total $200+
on their website said $15 for 1.5GB and the wifi around $79
      so ($15x12) + $79 = it's time for maths!

      • DSE sells one of these for $39.50 and it comes with 3GB data (1 month expiry). Still total around $200+.

Both the DSE offer and this particular deal for existing customer are mentioned in: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/51136

  • I don't know dude this is for existing customers, maybe give them a call

    • Do pre-paid customers get the promo aswell?

  • more details at http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/plans/bundles/index.htm

    btw vodafone ge family+friends plan is 700mb $4, 2gb $10, 6gb $20 :)

  • This link also discusses this wifi device:

  • Hmm…actually pretty good pricing IMO. Anyone that is with Voda that also uses this? Would like to know if you notice any speed differences with surfing the net with this device compared to say using direct from your phone.

    • The Pocket Wifi 2 has the 850 network which is in progress/completed in different areas. Because it is new, it is less congested, and hence faster speeds may be noticeable on this frequency band. If you're phone is 850 capable, you should see similar speeds? But the pocket wifi may be a little bit slower in that it needs to relay the data through it's own router gateway.

      • Using an iPhone 4 and speeds can sometimes get soooooo slow…its unbelievable.

Just wondering is there any way to block the usages so it doesn't go over 1.5GB/month?

    • I would love to know….

    • not at the moment. but its quite easy to check your spend.

man i cant believe how much they try to oversell there service

if people area already reporting network congestion… why make it worse for exsisting customers…
its worth 0 a month if the network is too flooded to use it…

    • based on feedback from other forms not personal experience.

Because they don't charge by the MB, they charge by the MONTH. So, it is irrelevant to them whether any of those accounts can actually use the service and download stuff. They don't even care if you can connect or not.

IF they they charged by data volume, then the service levels would improve vastly. They'd be pumping that bandwidth onto Users like there's no tommorrow. Push push push = fast fast fast = use as much data transfer as possible = $$

Just a dream for us in AU at the moment, but hopefully one day it'll become a reality. :-D

  • Is this available to add on to my sister's 3 plan (which is still in my name)?

    • Probably. I would ask them, and ask to get transferred to the guys who transfer 3 contracts to Vodafone. You will be talking to someone in this country and they are usually pretty helpful.

    • you'll find that it's a much easier and quicker process to do it in store, and won't cost you anything. Should only take around 30mins at max!!

  • Thanks for the post. Just gotten the one with $10/mth for 1.5GB under a 12-month plan at noon just now.

They also have the $20/mth for 4.5GB which was tempting but I decided to go for the $10 one first before going for the $20 one if 1.5GB is not enough. Because the staff told me at least by doing so if 4.5GB is too much, I can still go back to the original $10 but not the other way round.

Haven't tried out the Pocket WiFi though..

Hey guys I actually work for Vodafone, so i'll explain it a bit more. This 'bundle' option is replacing our 'combo cap' option. But for the first month it is available to be added to your account after you have already signed up. To answer peoples questions. It is only available for existing Vodafone customers who are on postpaid caps, not to prepaid or 3 customers. If you were a 3 customer it would probably be worth migrating across to VF and then you would be able to add the bundle onto your new VF account!!

    • gaudz: How can I transfer my 3 postpaid to VF? Currently paying off a subsidised iPhone3GS on the 3 plan. I am told if I transfer out I need to pay out the iPhone3GS w/o subsidy. I would like to transfer the subsidy as well.

  • If you are an RACQ / NRMA member, make sure that you mention it to get an additional 10% off.
Just confirmed with Vodafone phone operator that it will only cost me $9/month =)
