Quite cheap compared to Woolies and Coles. One of the best.

I have an unopened bottle that expired last month (I forgot to check the expiry date when I bought it late last year), it's been sitting in my pantry, wonder if it is still good to eat or if I should just discard it.
Taste test. It'll still be good being Japanese.
I'd eat it.
Expired or best before? If best before it’s likely fine, if expired it’s possibly a health risk.
Ohok, it's best before date, you have a point there, it should likely be fine to eat as it does say BBD and not expiry, I don't know why I automatically thought it was expiry date.
its fine
only people that can not cook need to add MSG. that's why I always keep some in the pantry.
Kewpie is an ancient Japanese god and they have bottled his Jizz for us to consume.
Secret sauce! #YBSYoungbloods
need a dessert, this or the haagen dazs ice cream
Obviously this.

Is it gluten free?
I still prefer Best Foods or Hellmann's, just imo
I have tried helmanns. My preference is for thomys.
Haven't tried thomys, it's on special at Woolworths at the moment, will give it a go, thanks!
Mix this with some Sriacha and stir until it's all mixed in. End game chilli mayo
Yeah, but they also sell one already pre mixed :)
Attention real egg mayonnaise lovers/addicts:
Although Kewpie is really really good wouldn't you agree that Costco's Best Foods (aka: Hellmanns) is best?
Closely followed by S&W Whole Egg.What do you think?
Gram per gram Kewpie Japanese Mayonnaise is cheaper (this offer only) except for Costco's one.
I like this one
May have already been mentioned.
If you have a Spudshed around you can get 1kg Kewpie for $7.99. saw it yesterday at Innaloo (WA) Spudshed.
I'm glad this was posted to give Kewpie the exposure it deserves, bit it really ain't that much cheaper than the frequent woolies sale price of around $3 - $3.30
Hence, I don't get all the upvotes.
Thanks for the negs
Expiry 15/09/20
At the end, is it made in Japan or made in Thailand? … or somewhere else?
ThanksProduct of Thailand.
Thanks!
Yes I saw it today as well: Thailand.Went to Woolies and bought instead Hellmann's ($4-400g) as they are on special. Better than Coles' special ($9.40-800g).
The bad news: Made in Spain. Not USA.
Will taste and then will regret or rejoice.
Checked these out at my local SA store (Adelaide Airport) and it is made in Thailand.
Just head to the local Asian grocery on Henley Beach Rd, Torrensville and you can buy the original Japanese stuff, which is better. Thank you. What was the price in the asian grocery? Does it taste any different between the two countries of origin
Just FYI, the white cap one you buy that is made in Japan is still not the OG one.
It's an egg reduced version because the actual red cap Made in Japan has too much egg content to be imported.
For clarity there are 3 versions:
- Made in Thailand, egg reduced - lowest flavour
- Made in Japan, egg reduced - medium flavour
- Made in Japan OG - highest flavour
So now the nanny state is telling us what mayonnaise we can eat?
We can kill ourselves with alcohol and tobacco but cannot risk our health with eggs in mayonnaise!!!!
It is a lot worse I imagined!!
Comment: the Spanish made Helmanns' I got has a 7.9% egg.
Good one. Cheers! Favourite Jap mayonnaise
I understand the love for Kewpie, but for those of us who prefer a more savory mayo, it's always Hellman's. xx
Just checked stock at Costco (QLD).
Kewpie they sell is made in Thailand.
Best Foods Real Mayonnaise they sell is made in USA (United States of America)
Label reads: "Known as Hellmann's East of the Rockies"
Large 1.9L jar.Mysteriously virtually all writing on the original USA packing label is covered with a white sticker. Some blank, some show Australian import info.
Mystery.
