    Why not Gold Coast

  • Surely there must be a time limit?
I can feel a Chrissy party booking

      Max 4 vouchers per table
Valid until the 20th of December

So theoretically limited to 8 people (2 per voucher) per table. You'd have to book tables separately I'd imagine, if you went over 8 people. But doing so before the 20th December would be easy enough..

      • +1

Yeah, the fine print says "Not to be used for private functions", but I guess you could get away with separate bookings of tables of 8.

    • +4

The limitation will be how often they bring the stuff out to the tables.

This will all end in tears.

Sorry Sir, you have had too much to drink.

Good question. It isn't mentioned in the title, but is in the details!

Why is the link so funny? The direct link should be

    http://www.groupon.com.au/deals/melbourne

  • Sorry guys, didn't realise. Just copied and pasted from the link in my email. Will remember next time.

    • +1

You didn't need to change it as it wasn't an affiliate link. The big picture is when these group buy sites first came about people were just posting their referral/affiliate links just to get credit and not because it was a good deal. With the ban of affiliate links in the deal, group buy bargain postings were reduced to 1/3 of what they were previously were.

      • No stress, just want to avoid any potential problems :)

  • great stuff, if this was in Sydney id be on it for sure. Beer and pizza mmm great combo

  • Great for the boys, but I usually only eat 2-3 slices XD

Not sure about this deal. Almost 1000 sold, 124 days to redeem the deal means about 8 redemptions a day. With the 2 hour restrictions on MCG events and the likelyhood of people redeeming drinking deals on Friday/Saturday night, there might be issues with people redeeming the deal.

One thing to note, it doesn't state the year in the deal so it could be interpreted as any December. May be a good argument of getting out of the deal if you have second thoughts.

    • Confirmation email - This deal is available until 20.08.2011 23:59

Right to cancel: Once you purchase the voucher, you may cancel the transaction at any time prior to the end of the deal. If you do want to cancel, you must do so by sending us an email to tell us you are cancelling to: [email protected]

I bought one hoping to use it before the football tomorrow night (at Etihad, not the G). When I checked the status of my order it said valid from August 20 (Saturday). Bugger!

Will report back if I can swing it to work tomorrow. I think it might be good for me to be one of the ones to try and get this out of the way early. As Neil points out, with so many vouchers sold they will be giving away a lot of pizza and beer. They might renege.

They've put it on to their side deal now ending Sunday night.

    August 10, 2011 - Doesn't like it
I paid good money and bought a voucher for a four course dinner for two. The voucher has an expiry date of 9 August. Today I rang for a booking and was told by the female owner that they are NOT going to honour the voucher because "it is a few hours too late, tough luck".

I bought the thing especially for tonight. It didnt say valid from the 20th anywhere on the page. I didnt realise that til I printed out the voucher.

    • Ha, it expired August 9 and she booked for August 10th? What did she expect to happen? Coles, Woolworths, whatever company won't accept gift certificates after the date.

I reckon the copy editors for Groupon are not careful enough when they post deals. Should have said when it is active from and also put in a year of when it expires.

    • Been there done that. I read about 30% of these types of deals never get redeemed!

  • Doesn't bode well for me being able to use it a day early…

  • +1

Voucher worked 1 day early. Pizza was excellent, beers were great, and they weren't stingy with either. Owener was really friendly and will definitely be going there again.

    • Great result, well done!
