Anyone ordered and actually had their thongs shipped yet?

I placed my order over a week ago, and it's been sitting in a pending state since then.

Maybe I'm just impatient.

    I actually requested a refund, and to my surprise received an email from living social within 24 hrs, simply stating that my refund would be processed within 3-5 days. Very impressed with them and would gladly buy from them again.

  • My order went through on the 9th August, also pending. Would like to know how people go with getting a reply.

    We are not currently taking telephone calls to put those staff on emails and order processing. Pending orders means your order has not shipped yet, some customers may have 4-6 weeks delays in receiving their orders. If you do not want to wait you can always asked for a refund through living social or jump on it directly. We look forward to getting all the orders shipped ASAP. (Direct any questions to [email protected]) thank you..

    I don't mind about having to wait for my thongs. Because I don't need them urgently. I just hate being in the dark, not knowing whether or not I'll actually get them in the end.

    • Saw that…they also removed a whole bunch of negative comments!! Like you said, I wouldn't mind waiting but it would help a lot if they were up front from the start, and didn't treat their customers like fools.

  • The only thing stopping me from being worried or taking it further is the fact that I used all my Jump On It referral credit to buy this so I didn't actually lay out any money!

    • Fair enough then. Otherwise wouldn't be too hopeful, what with the latest deal that they have launched. How they can possibly do so, when they still haven't fulfilled previous offers is beyond me.

      • Maybe they had a deal with Jump On It/Living Social where they agreed (At the start) to run the deal twice…and they couldn't get out of it?

        Still I think it flies in the face of this (from their website) : "OzThongs is a company dedicated to customer service, very fast delivery and the best products at the best prices. We only sell items that are IN STOCK and ready to ship the same day! "

        I also noticed that they seem to have a different website for coupon customers. I can't log into my "account" through their website, but when I use the link provided by Jump On It I can log in.

  • mine I ordered in august and now I have been told my order is on hold due to wrong or expired voucher. Have checked my order against the voucher and I did use the right one. Of course no chance of customer service. Now all I can do it try and order again with the same code and risk waiting yet another month to be told the same thing. What a joke. I think that on hold thing must be a way of trying to force us to get a refund from living social.

    Err… I don't think you guys read the email invoice from Ozthongs.
    If you read the Shipping Method it says:

    LivingSocial / Jumponit - Free ShippingOrders will dispatched from September 19th (2-4 weeks delivery time from this date)

    So I'm pretty sure you guys won't be getting it for another 2 weeks or so

  • I received an email on 26 August which reads:

    …. "OzThongs is currently processing all orders, and your thongs will be on your feet within 6 weeks if you haven't already received them!

    We guarantee that you will receive your order, but we're asking that you be patient as the volume is quite something! If you haven't yet placed your order, don't forget to do so before the end of November." …..

    so should be here in a couple of weeks.

    I ordered my fisrt pair 5/8 nearly 2mths ago the 2nd order was the 13/8 emailed left messages never hear anything I know they have alot of orders to fill BUT y did they run the deal again.

  • I have been waiting months. Still nothing. Written 4 emails, asked for a refund, all I get is the computer generated email that says "We will get back to you in 24hrs" "Your voucher is still valid until November." November is fast approaching!!

    • I rang living social and they said that there was a shipment due 6/10 but becuase of strikes blah blah blha might be another few weeks ring living social late at nite around 8pm

  • I ordered mine the 31 of august.. its now the 18 october ..my account is still pending .. i have written several emails and also called a few times and left voice messages! this is so frustrating! i knew there was a 2-4 wk wait which was fine as i knew summer wouldn't of arrived yet.. and now i'm beginning to wonder will sumemr arrive before they do?

    This has become the biggest farce. I email ozthongs to no avail and living social only sends an automated reply back. This has got to be the worst group buying experience I've been through.

    What a load of crap - a CREDIT!!! They have completely failed. A credit should be offered only when the customer has contributed to the problem.

  • I've finally gotten a reply from livingsocial after threatening to go to the department of fair trading. They have processed a refund back onto my credit card. Thank goodness this debarcle is finally over.

    • To be honest, I don't believe it should be a refund at all. I still think we should get the things for the long wait, and a partial refund, although I am starting to believe that I won't get either until next summer…

      It's a shame, but if I was to take it to fair trading, I would only get a refund, nothing else…

      I have bought 6 Spreets deal (2 restaurant, 2 activities, 2 mail outs) only 1 was a bad experience, but I blame that on the company, not Spreets. The one thing I wanted a refund for, was processed 3 days later no questions asked…

      But I saw on a news website the ACCC is looking into moving in and making regulations for them, about time!

  • I Purchased mine on the 28/08/11. The Email stated that orders will be dispatched from September 19th (2-4 weeks delivery time from this date). That time has passed and still no thongs or anything from them. I tried looking up my account with the email and password they sent me in the confirmation email, but it wont let me log on. I'm heading overseas for 6 months in under 2 weeks and i was really hoping to get them before i leave but now doesn't seem like that will happen. i would rather get the havianas than get a refund but it doesn't look like i have much choice. Very dissapointed

    • I'm actually tempted to order through their normal site, and see if they arrive, but I will only do it, if they accept PayPal…

      I want to believe they are an honest company, but we're just caught up in the amount that sold…

    I emailed both OzThongs and living social probably about 2 weeks ago demanding a refund and if I had no response within 14 days I said I would refer the matter to the ACCC. Living social emailed me today, not sure if this was sent to everyone or as a response to my email specifically:


    Dear LivingSocial Customer,

    We apologise for the delay you’re experiencing in the delivery of the Havaianas thongs you ordered through the merchant Ozthongs.

    As you probably know, LivingSocial partners with merchants to supply the goods and services we offer to our customers. In this case, we partnered with a company called Ozthongs, which we have since concluded is unable to fulfill their contractual obligation to LivingSocial and to our members to deliver those thongs.

    In the rare cases like this that a merchant does not fulfill their end of the bargain, LivingSocial protects our customers by offering a refund or LivingSocial credit.

    If, however, you still want your Havaianas (like the overwhelming majority of customers we’ve spoken with), we have found alternative supplies direct from Brazil, and we are working to get your Havaianas to you as soon as possible.

    So what next?

    If you’d like to wait a little longer - DO NOTHING

    We’ll send you an email update twice weekly until the stock delivery date has been confirmed.
    If you would like to receive a refund:

    Not sure I really want to bother with a $24 refund, I was more frustrated that I had no communication whatsoever from OzThongs. So I'm thinking I might just see if they send me the thongs from alternative supplies.

    • Got this too. Not impressed, I hope they get my order right. Why would anyone choose a credit over a refund? Doesn't make sense, not even a credit + apology amount.

      • Believe it or not, with most of these GB companies, I would prefer a credit. That way I do not have to check my credit card bill and ensure the credit actually was made.

    Neos - think that email was not sent out to everyone. I think you got that because you threatened to report to the ACCC.

    OzThongs will try and charge you $9.90 delivery too! Original deal included delivery. What a joke! And how long have they held onto our cash for? Anyways if "supply" wasn't the issue, why not fulfill all your 'pending' orders?!?

  • I just gave Jump On It to try request a refund.
    They have an option set up just for Oz Thongs Customers - so i imagine they are getting sh!t load of calls.

    They told me that they have found a new supplier of Havaianas, and will be sending out an email with the ordering process next week.

    If not satisfied we can still request a refund from them.

    I figured I've waiting this long, I'll just wait some more.

    Oz Thongs are a joke. They have the nerve to ask customers to buy directly from them after screwing us over with the Jump on it and Living Social Deal. i wonder how many will take the bait.

    • Not very good bait.. when you factor in shipping, you are better buying elsewhere, and actually getting exactly the size and colour you want!

      I think it is another one of those 'deals-went-wrong' situation. There was a miscommunication between Havaianas and LS. I am gonna wait this out, not in a hurry but want to see how it turns out. Plus I don't want LS credits, if I wanted refund I want full refund credited.

    Do you think it was really an issue of suppliers? One scenario would be that Living social and jump on it refused to pay these guys the full amount as they had damaged LS and JOI's reputation with the late delivery. Or it could just be a disagreement on their contract and thus are holding the thongs at ransom. Cause if it was a late shipment, it would've been easier for OT to deliver it than for LS to find another supplier.

    Anyways the nerve that ozthong have to not only tell us to order directly, but to charge us delivery on top of that. I guess they have a huge shipment of thongs and not many people to send it to.

      My bad - I had the 4th on my mind from one of the emails. Looking again it was the 4th of November and this date was for contact. You are right - the date for delivery was the 15th of Dec. I still live in hope.

    So I've put my order through. I was a bit annoyed that they do not have the same wide range of colours to choose from (esp that there are no plain black ones)!!!

    After ordering, a message pops up saying they will be delivered 7 days from the date the order was placed, depending on stock levels (what a joke)!

    • Livingsocial customers haven't received anything yet… and this is changing everything that was promised… sigh.

  • I have sent an email to them regarding the lack of choices + later delivery than promised (and by this I am referring to the email posted above, which was sent out to JumpOnIt customers too (just changed names etc) ). I was highly annoyed that their Live Chat never seems to be available and could not wait any longer so I just emailed.

  • I got the email but my voucher redemption code from living social doesn't work. Tried both the voucher number and redemption code! Seriously over this. Not worth the hassle, should have just paid regular price for havianas from a shop!!!

      Yeah I called and they promised delivery before Christmas. That never happened. So annoyed as I'm going away soon and needed the thongs before then. Who would have thought it would take months for them to arrive?! Now I won't even know if/when they arrive. So annoyed.

    • Same! Pro tip: safeway has cheap thongs for $1, and nice soft rubber ones for $5. The $5 ones are great, used them last week.
