  • If you don't have Prime you can buy from Bikeology for just under $1 difference
    https://www.bikeology.com.au/search?q=Tickr
(Amazon is showing $8 shipping to Sydney)

    • You don't have to pay $8 shipping. You can joint the Prime for $6.99, order the item, then cancel the Prime.

      • Ah yes, never considered that. Since they pro-rata the payment. Do you have to wait until item is shipped before cancelling?

    Description is vague.
But it seems these are old-school electrical models, not optical.
If you don't need ANT+, you can get generics for $15 to $20 on eBay, but the waterporoofing is not so great.

We've had brand-name deals here for around $10.

They are all standards-compliant, working between brands.

The Polar OH1+ is more modern, but also expired. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/508680

  • PC Magazine reviewing heart rate monitors? Do gamers wear these?
Not knocking this deal however the Wahoo TICKR was substantially cheaper last November from Pushys.

  • TickrX and Tickr are a different versions. The Tickr X monitors running parameters as well as heart rate, whilst the Tickr is HR only. Next to a Garmin HR this is about the best on the market, the only down side is the strap has double presstuds that clip to each side of the HR monitor and they can easily come undone if you reposition the strap.

Anyone who cycles or runs will know that optical is no where near as reliable as ECG base, optical is ok at low intensity levels but doesnt handle rapid changes any where near as good
