It is not even legal to ride on the road. Many ppl have been fined by police.

    • +1

Who. Only idiots that ride like mugs get fined. Plenty ppl ride these on city roads and cops and don’t bother to squeeze a fart.

Plus 200w is pretty weak wouldn’t go very fast

Is it too hard for you to do a google search?

Some don't get fined doesn't mean it won't happen to you. Just an unlucky day with a cop that got a bad day and you will learn it the hard way.

And 200W on a lighter scooter than 250W electric bike can easily go much faster than the legal limit of 10km/h

@samehada The legality depends on where you live.

      • Except QLD, it is currently illegal in other states.

I’ll definitely get one of these electric scooters as soon as it‘s legal to ride on Sydney’s footpaths.

    Is it legal in Brisbane?

    • +1

      Yes

    • Only on the road whose speed limit below 50km/h or remain footpath

  • This is a little gem, the kids got this one from Santa. Easily 7-8 km from a full charge, not the greatest range but for the price I can't complain. It is only 200w so the 100kg limit most certainly applies.

Do I have to be 100 kg to ride this…

      • You can but it will hamper performance abit, given I'm 140kg+ it still moved me along given at a slightly slower rate mind you.

Bought one of these three weeks ago for $249. Stack with discounted gift cards through Suncorp rewards (8% discount) and cash back from cashrewards for a further 6.1% bonus cash back bringing price to $180.82 after cash back. It won’t win any prizes, but the folding mechanism is quick and seems durable, the solid tyres won’t give a smooth ride, but no punctures, the speedo is inaccurate, but that’ll make the kids (or SO) think they’re flying along, the battery is small, but on the flat more than capable, I went for an 8km ride with my SO and it was still ~38v so should give ~15km easy for a 60-70kg rider.

  • Whats the top speed on this?

    • It says 25kmh, really about 20kmh. Speedo on my unit is off by 4/5 real

      • Just like a modern car when you check with GPS :-)

  • up to 8km per full charge,

Shut up and take my money!

A friend got fined close to $2500 (cops said due to multiple offense of using eScooter like no insurance, no license etc…) for using eScooter in Sydney cbd.
