I don't think any of Ben Greenfield's books have been huge by any stretch of the imagination.
Every book in the space should be taken with a great of salt for sure. That doesn't mean there won't be some interesting things in the 640 pages, which as pointed out below is clearly a pricing error. Millions of people watch nutrition/health documentaries on Netflix that contain 1/10000th as much science/references as you would find in a book by someone like Ben Greenfield.
And pubmed has 30 million citations and is free.
More references than a Netflix doco doesn't really make it valuable. Nor does netflix give out its view numbers. So you are just throwing numbers around.
Don't get me wrong. I like Ben greenfield and his podcast. I get nuggets of useful information here and there. In between him boasting about how amazing he is.
I purchased the book. For $15 I see value. Anything over $35 and I would start to question its value and I have similarly sized hard cover books in this field like the 4 hour chef and supple leopard to name a few.
@stickymoo: I'm aware - I am a researcher and there's at least a small chance I will be cited in the book. I like listening to people like BG while commuting etc and often get a good laugh but, as you say, there are nuggets of useful information here and there which help stimulate new ideas and occasionally lead to some n=1 at home.
-The twelve best ways to heal a leaky brain
-Ten foods that break your brain, and how to eat yourself smart
Sounds like complete pseudoscience. You'd have to have leaky brain to believe this crap.
Cheap though!
Not the first book you could say that about
All of Ben Greenfield's other books are either free or a couple of dollars.
This is a big step up for him. Expensive book for someone that just has his own podcast about health.
Maybe the exposure on Joe Rogan has catapulted his audience.
still at this price for a hard copy, with someone that has some good information it is worth it. But the RRP is inflated.
Beyond Training wasn't free or a couple of dollars - it was as legit as most other books you would find in the health section at bookstores.
That's only one of his many books
that is a amazing price for a new 640 page hardback
also that price at booktopia

if it is a price error who is more likely to fulfill - angus and robertson or booktopia?
I might order through both
that's what i ended up doing too lol
if they both come i can give one as a gift or trade or sell it
Price is currently $87.75 so clearly a price error.
Incredible deal - this has to be a mistake price as the book is going to be huge! Thank you OP!
