The Castrol website says ‘edge’ is better than this full synth magnatec, and in turn, full synth magnatec is better than semi-synth magnatec.
I’m thinking that regular oil changes play a larger role in reducing engine wear and tear than oil brand (for regular cars doing regular driving I.e., not taking the car to the track, not towing stuff, etc).

I decided to call the store, and was told price is Definately about $45. So must have been a advertising stuffup.
FULLY MISLEADING advertisement. They have advertised as ‘Fully synthetic’ unfortunately they sell only ‘bio synthetic’. This deal is totally misleading customers. Just went to the Camberwell VIC store. Called and went within 30mins because they said they have heaps in store. But when we went there they said the sale is only for BIO Synthetic engine oil same brand.
my local store at warriwood only had the bio stuff on display but i got guy to check and yey..stashed away out back was the good gear while trying to flog off the bio stuff..
this was prob a loss leader to get people in and not worth selling if they can divert you to other products…
first guy tried divert me to $30 other branded stuff but i found another guy that was more than helpfull checking for stock out back… he was even willing to let me have more than 2 if i wanted…
My local autobarn in Sydney sold out of the Castrol Magnatec 5w-30 pretty quickly.
Fortunately, they allow rain check - order at the special price for pickup in a few days.
Got the flyer. If the specs are true this may fit lots of modern engines. Got sucked in by Repco. But to their credit I must say if I enter my vehicle into Supercheap website all the parts that come up are actually cheaper at Repco. Autobarn must make their money with the turnover of other stuff.
