I bought a 2DS XL from the last Amazon deal and had no idea 3DS games were so expensive. I unknowingly expected them all to be around $25-$30 but many are double that, which is what AAA PS4 and XB1 titles can be had for.

You can get cheaper ones on Amazon and often will be below 20 bucks. And on the eshop.
But yeah, if you want headline games for that console, they will be expensive :/
Haha thanks mate, I'll keep an eye out then. I've thought about using an R4i card but decided against it (for now). I really like the nostalgia that comes with owning game cartridges, as I'm sure many of us do.
I only buy the cartridges when they're reduced. I like cartridges as well. Keep an eye on bigw/eb/eshop/amazon. I've got a good collection that hasn't cost me too much.
I want to chip mine as well eventually, same for my switch. But for now I'm happy with it as is.

This is 2019, no more r4i card but much simpler soft hack is available. hacking my 3ds xl is more fun than buying the console….

Got this from EB Games for $9 last year. But I was terrible at it because you have to match up the colours of the dishes and I'm coloured blind. Irrelevant to this deal but a sad story for sure :)
