So no Data mobile phone plan? That sounds ancient.

    • +2

30gb of data - sorry, will add to title.

      • That's a decent deal, I was thinking what's the catch and maybe 5-10GB data plan.

  • +1

was there an option to pay extra for s10+?

  • -5

For ppl don't get S10 serious atm. S11 is due in 2 months.

    • +17

But why get S11 when S12 is due in 14 months as well!

      • +5

Why wait for the S12 when you can get an S13 (Silvia) now

        • +5

          Well that esca accelerated quickly

This one has a gift card as well

      • +3

This same gift card deal was already posted, this is a duplicate. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/503294

        • +2

          Duplicate indeed.
The other deal has the advantage of more information as well, rather than a botched attempt at trying to make it appear cheaper.

Not as got as the jbhifi (Telstra) one, which is 65/month (60gb) over 12 months + $99 for s10e.

Using OP's Officeworks comparison, that's negative dollars per month:
    $65/month x 12months + $99 (outright) - s10e cost= $879 - $888 =-$9
And that's a 12 month plan, on Telstra networks with 60gb.

Or if using a more realistic number, sell the phone for $700-800 cash which brings it to $6-14 over 12 months.

    • +2

The OP is handy for people stuck with Telstra

      • +1

Fair enough, but for people stuck to Telstra, they can port out and then port back in relatively easy.

        And
        - Telstra is 12 months, so they won't be stuck with Optus for 24 months
        - Data is 60 gb vs 30 gb

        • Trying to get my parents to do that, just isn't going to happen hahaha

          • +1

@caviar: Yeh I did it for my parents two years ago, when I first signed up to Telstra.
Waiting for their plan to expire this month, so I can do the same. This jbhifi plan will unfortunately expire before their contract ends, hopefully something as good comes along

    • If only most of us aren't already on Telstra ;-)

      • Yeh I was on Telstra all of the last 2 years, I just ported out and back in this week to this plan.

Previously was on the $59 jbhifi 24month plan with s8, $100 cashrewards, $200 Jbhifi gift card

Total cost is $1536, but with the $300 Eftpos Card included, it takes it to $1236. The Samsung s10e is $888.00 at Officeworks, so takes it to $348 or $14.5 per month for a 24mth unlimited SMS/Call plan with the Optus network.

    That's not exactly correct.
What you are saying is at the end of the plan (December 2021) the S10e will still be worth $888. That's not the case at all.
You've got maybe 3 months before the new one comes out and it drops sharply. Of course, they want to contract as many people as they can before it drops in price and hoping people will do exactly as you did.

  • Do all Samsung handsets for Australian market only have single sim slot?

    • -1

Yes as far as I know there's no genuine OEM Australian stock that supports dual Sim. Only grey imports are dual Sim. NO telecom or major retailers stock these as they can't offer warranty/cover with Samsung Australia. You'll have to buy online if you wish to get a dual Sim.

      • +1

Doesn't the Samsung Note 10 plus support dual SIM as defualt?

      • A ton of retailers offer dual-SIM variants. JB Hifi and TGG for example.

      • Only the 5G and Telco variants are single-SIM. Ubranded models are dual-SIM (in Note 10 the plus version only).

        My Note 9 is a dual-SIM.

  • Any similar contract deals for a good quality camera phone like Huawei P30?

    • That's exactly what I'm looking out for, a Huawei deal

  • This is a good deal

    • It's not really though..

      • Well they're associated of course they'll say it's good.

  • +1

Is this currently the best deal under $65 per month? My Optus plan expires in 3 days and I'm shocked at what Optus are trying to flog off their plans for on their website.
