How does this compare to the one OP posted?
The RG is essentially an R6 Android TV.
god deal for that brand of smart tv
Amen
freaking television evangelists
hallelujah
Oh lord.
good god, my marriage barely survived black friday…
Now Friday the 13th don't risk it
Jesus that's cheap
I picked up a 65R7 last week.
Insanely impressed with the UI and picture quality. The 8 would be even better!!sigh
Just had to end the religious comment chain huhFather, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing - there, saved it!
Oh god, I didn't even realise 😭
Wish they'd lower the price of the 75r8.
Interestingly, the 65R8 was posted up with the same price 2 weeks ago but only garnered 13 votes.
OzB works in mysterious ways.
Was posted on black Friday. Guessing it got lost in the mess of that day?
Big difference if something front pages too, some people only look at front page deals
I'm hoping for some super deals Boxing Day & just after. That means a trip to a shop, but I've gotten the best deals that way— by far.
Given retail spending has been down, I reckon there will be some TV and game console bargains post Christmas to lure people back in
What do you guys think… I've got 'board approval' to drop approx $1k for a new lounge room tv either now or in January. Is this a good (the best) choice?
Change the board representatives and get a 2k tv
Any good deals for smaller TVs? I need to replace my old Sony 24inch.
Is a good deal but funnily it's still only an 8bit +FRC panel, whereas Hisense put true 10 bit panels in many lower range P series panels. Kind of odd.
What does that mean in layman's terms? Is it bad?
I googled…. Its to do with the number of colours it can display…
"Since the vast majority of images and movies available are encoded with 8-bit color, they would display the same on both monitors. Unless you're working with photos or video shot with 10-bit or higher color depth, there really isn't any reason to prefer true 10-bit over 8-bit + FRC. And even then most people would be hard-pressed to see the difference."
I'm pretty sure HDR movies are 10bit color (Rec.2020 colorspace).
Totally agree. Disappointing aye. That has actually stopped me pulling the trigger today. That's a 15,000,000,000 colour difference between 8 and 10 bit panels from what I've read😪
How does this hinsense tv compare to brands like Sony and Samsung (any model, I'm unfamiliar with their models/series)?
Arguably Sony generally has slightly better upscaling of SD content and some would argue reliability over a longer time.
Not sure about Samsung.
Hisense is basically a premium TV brand now though and I believe the number 1 selling TV brand.
how is R8 differs from P8??
R8 ULED is better than the P8
Hey Yoda, There's multiple differences - check the Hisense site as they've got detailed specs on each.
How does the P9 compare with the R8? Would the P9 be better regarding ghosting?
Where can you buy the P9?
Well I just managed to get the 65PX from appliance central eBay for $1800 delivered ($1690 before delivery!). Was about to post link to the deal when they pulled the auction! Appears they have pulled a few other auctions as well.
Hopefully mine will be honored
save your money, its edge lit
Waiting on 8500G sale on boxing day
8500g is also edge lit.
still waiting for mine to be delivered from Black Friday, I'm going to say they use the worst couriers in VIC
I am also waiting, terrible delivery service. Tracking/customer service is inept.
Same here for WA. Tracking said….
12/12/2019 14:47:10 1/ 1 Scanned into Depot
11/12/2019 16:59:21 1/ 1 Scanned into Depot
10/12/2019 17:18:14 1/ 1 Scanned into Depot
05/12/2019 06:00:11 On-Forwarded / DEPART SYDNEY FOR PERTH ON 06/12/2019would be nice if they just deliver it instead of scanning it everyday for the past 3 days!
you're right, they love scanning the TV into the Depot everyday, what are they even scanning? do they have 1 dude who delivers all these things or something? tried to call them to see what's going on, been on hold for 45mins. I could probably fly to Syd and pick up the TV and walk it back to Melbourne quicker
@unfnshd: finally got through to a "person" they said deliveries are currently backed up and they will "catch up" by Monday 16th. So hopefully fingers crossed
@unfnshd: It was scanned again on 13 and 16/12!!
Contacted AC for an update and attached the tracking details yesterday.
No response from AC but got a message from Hunter Express asking if I was ok with delivery on 18/12.
Does Appliance Central still use Hunter Express for delivery? They are the worst I’ve ever experienced and are the sole reason I don’t shop here anymore.
For my delivery they are….
This or Sony?
Impressive deal!!
Makes me really think about upgrading my Panasonic VT60 65" plasma…
Upgraded from my 50" Panasonic plasma after 8 or so years, super impressed with the 65R8. At this price its a steal.
This or the 55PX?
try your luck price matching at TGG, worked for me last sale and saves you from the hassle of the courier
Do these still have lip sync issues? What's the lag like for gaming? I'm seeing mixed reports.
Is $215 for hisense 32R4 a good price? Wanting to replace my old tv
Don't even bother, bought my TV before Black Friday and I still haven't received it. They use Hunter Express which are the worst couriers in existence.
Also this HiSense Series G 65" $1095
