How does this compare to the Thermapen? I got one and it's sooooo good. If at $27 it's somewhat comparable, I'll buy one.

    It's definitely not cheap. But it's just so good, instant read, perfectly calibrated, tough little unit and the battery is still going strong after almost 2 years. At $27 may just have to pull the trigger and buy one as a backup.
