  • City perfume only offers AmEx via PayPal? How will credits be processed if this is the case?

    edit: I guess there's 3 brick and mortar locations…

I've contacted City Perfume and their reply:

"We have been receiving orders online via PayPal flow which tracks amex cards. Otherwise Amex won't be promoting the offer for our online website."

Spoke to AMEX live chat and they said it won't be accepted if payment is made through third party, i.e., PayPal

Nothing better than receiving two conflicting answers…

Yeah, nah - City Perfume are absolutely scamming to drive traffic.

I went in store and billing is through Square, so it didn't trigger the offer. Bought it anyways, since I was there and the price was still quite good (10% off online prices in store, so my $170 item was $153)

I've reported them to AmEx for gaming the system, AmEx is manually crediting me the offer and forwarding it "offer team" to examine whether or they have purposely made it impossible to get the credit. I reckon if they look at the stats they will see that nobody that saved it to their card has successfully claimed it

  • hello, sorry this might be a dumb qn. Are all AMEX issued cards eligible for these statement credits?

    • +1

Yes, but all the cards must be registered online then Primary and supplementary cards receive them. Not all cardholders receive all offers. It is to your advantage to get the max number of supplementary cards so that you can get the most offers, they usually do not cost anything. I have saved many times the cost of the annual fee with these offers and of course some cards do not cost anything and still get the offers.

  • Hi if i have primary card and one supplementary, do i get this offer twice (if used both cards) or just once (use any)

    • You have to save the offer on both cards. And then you can use both the cards and you will get 2 credits.

It's per card register and use. Hope it helps.
